Do logic puzzles. Play chess. Do crossword puzzles and that new number puzzle thing with the Japanese name I always forget . . . in short, do things that exercise your mind. It's just like a muscle, you got to use it to build its strength.

Also, be sure your diet is high in protein. Your brain runs on protein.

P.S. Oh, yes: kill your TV.

Exersice your brain. Do puzzles, take quizzes, read more....
Also, remember that you are only 16 and you have a TON of time to learn plenty. You have high school to finish and college to attend, and so much to learn and so much time to do it. I think your IQ has to be 160 or higher to be considered a "genius". But really darlin, common sense is the best education to have, and you don't have to be a genius to be smart, witty and to know what you are doing in life.

Internet IQ TEST you've taken does not fully certifies that you have actually reach that level of intelligence. These tests are meant to measure your level of education on certain subjects. The best measure of intelligence are how you would react and decide quickly to resolve any problems or obstacles in certain situations in real life.

If you answer the question "Who would you save FIRST from drowning, your mother or your wife/husband?", would it make you a genius?

IQ tends to beinborn, however, the ability to ake tests is a learned behavior.Your IQ in reality says nothing about who you are. If you want to raise your IQ, ask why. Then do what you have to do to satisfy whatever need is being challenged.
IQ is a number. Usually measures how well one can take a culturally biased test!

The best way is, to do as much research about many subjects..
First learn how to study properly...many have not mastered that skill..
To learn properly you have to know what is important & pervailant to each subject...what are the real facts, what is an opinon...
Many do not know the true history of the USA,as text books have been rewriten, many facts are excluded.... to find the true facts, you will need to go back before 1930....
Many learn by hands on,movies, taking notes and experiences of other people...
the intenet provides a wealth of knowledge,,,so do the elderly, who lived history, museums and books.
There is a great site for online classes with many subjects,it leaves out the opinons and gives detailed facts, dates and informaton...with quizes for each subject...it is About.com
My son is homeschooled...he just turned 10 .he has scored post high school in 6 classes, junior college level. He has scored 4 classes at 12th grade level.
He loves the online classes on About.com...Moody Science videos, museums, history, actually going to historic places, and the medical field was due to his premature birth and all the specialist he saw..
He is able to read & spell at the college junior level...as he learned the rules of the English language, the history , origin of it and how words are borrowed, made from famous people, and why knowing the rules makes it easier to learn more .
I was senior college level in 5 classes, when I was 12...post college in 7 classes. My Dad taught college level High School & was also a college professor...he taught me how to learn and more than I ever learned in public school...
I wish you well with you quest for more knowledge as it is your way to freedom and gives you a brighter future....

To Joesph6902000.. ..thanks for serving & defending those who can't do it for themselves !!! very noble & honorable !!!!

You're already "above average" and "gifted", so why worry about becoming a "genius". Just keep doing what you're doing and make sure you have fun along the way. You've got your whole adult life ahead of you. Don't try to be something you're not.

I.Q: The ratio of tested mental age to chronological age, usually expressed as a quotient multiplied by 100.
I.Q is the measurement of brain activity we can process, it’s irreparable and it has limits depending on every person.
If you are referring as the level of intelligence, it definitely doesn’t have to do with your I.Q. Intelligence is measure on the accuracy to learn, and the study habits you develop. Your brain does accustom, and in this aspect intelligence can be improved.
But the I.Q does not have to do anything with this matter. The I.Q is just a generalize percentage on your capacity to respond and understand things.

if you practice the tests, or the types of questions they use, you can get higher scores.

Increasing your vocabulary will increase your score - especially if you learn the root words in Latin.

You can even learn about test design. that helps on some, but not most IQ tests.

Are you blond? If yes, darken your hair. If no, cheat.

Really, there are a few ways to do this:

- Take the same test repetedly; you're bound to do better. (I bumped mine up from 142 to 150 this way!)

- Look up the answers (if there is no time constraint)

- Study your questions carefully before you answer; try to make all the multi-choice be the "right" answer... this way the clear answer/ correct answer can be verified...

- Pray.

Good luck!

read as much as you can. it improves memory, vocabulary and many other thinking areas of the brain. keep in mind though, internet tests aren't always accurate. for an accurate IQ test, see a psychologist, or your guidance counselor at school.
