You should absolutely see a vet. about this.
Their are several reasons you dog is having seizures. It could be hypoglycemic, it could have an infection that has caused a high fever, then there is the same cause as Epilepsy in humans.
It is called Idiopathic causes. This means there have been test done and your vet examines your dog and he is otherwise healthy, There is no reason for the seizures: they don't know the cause. Hence the word Idio meaning Idiot. Believe or not this is true. There are some good meds. for seizures in dogs. you vet will let you know if you pet would need them, depending on the cause. Phenobarbital is most common.

epilepsy, chemical poisoning ( flea treatments, shampoos, bug sprays, anything you use around the house), someone could have poisoned him, allergies, tumors, diabetes.
It could be anything. Take the dog to the vet. The more seizures that happen and the longer they last ,the more the dogs brain is being deprived of oxygen.
I had to have my 5 year old dog put to sleep because her seizures were lasting 15 minutes at a time and there was just nothing left that could be done.
Good Luck to you!

Any number of things can cause seizures. Hypoglycemia is fairly common in small breeds. Consult a vet. It could also be epilipsy but that can be controlled with medication usually. The vet is the only way to know for sure.
If you can't ge to one immediately try several small meals to keep the blood sugar level up.

Seizures can be caused by several things, from liver problems to hypogycemiia, to chocolate poisoning, and many other causes. Some of the causes are treatable, so a trip to the vet just might put things right....but at least he/she might find the cause and treat it.

consulting a vet during your annual checkup is a good idea. My 13 year old chihuahua has been having seizures since she was 2. They are more infrequent that that she is older.

This is like asking a mechanic why the car makes that one sound, you know that one. I'm a vet and without work-up and a physical exam it would be tough to answer your question.
It could be primary liver disease, it could be primary brain disease, it could be a stress stimuli.
Good Luck,
a DVM
