Depends on where you go. At Target the other night, I bought a small cutting board with a paring knife all for $1. If you go to a yard sale last month, I bought 12 books for $1. At an auction last year, I bought a "lot" for $1 because there was an old hatbox in good condition included -- and inside a ratty old suitcase that was also in it, I found a brand new still-in-the-box movie camera from the mid 70s! And at our local "Everything $1" store you can get all kinds of things.

i live right by a dollar store where everything is exactly a dollar. no tax on food items. so i guess whatever food item i am craving for at the time i walk into the store. i think i would buy some sugar cookies. hahaha
