Auguste and Louis Lumiere
The French say they invented cinema.
Wikipedia says they are some of the earliest film-makers.

This is cheating and you should take the time to do a search on your own. How is this fair to Little Suzie who took the time to look in a book to find it? This is not your own work and as long as it took you to type this question and its details is a lot longer than it would have been to type Le Frere Lumiere into a seach bar. CHEATER!!!!!!!!

the light brothers are louis lumiere and auguste lumieres they developed a motion picture system in 1895. they were i beleive the first. you can do a search on google or yahoo on the "freres lumieres" and you'll find answer.
