The most important thing to do is be totally honest when you call the hotline. Let them know who did the abusing. What they did? If you have any marks and what they are. Also, let them know if there were any witnesses to the abuse. Let them know if you let any of your teachers or friends know of the abuse. The person on the other end of the phone is trained to deal with things like this ... so again, be totally honest.

The hardest part is picking up the phone and dialing the number and say "hello". Trust me. Remember they have heard it all and they have heard worse. They are not there to 'judge' you, they are there to help you and get you help. I know how incredibly hard it is to take the first step - it's like leaping off a cliff isn't it? But you have to do it if nothing else, for yourself. You will feel better having told. I know it doesn't feel that way right now but yes, it does get better.
You are very brave and I am very proud of you!

When you call the hotline, you tell them exactly what occured; time frame; age; who; what role the person was in at the time(i.e role of authority, caregiver); where it occured; who was aware of it occuring;if police contacted; if local officials were informed; any other person aware of it being done to; who you told and if they did anything to protect you; any witnessess; anyone else know about it

Just tell them what happened. They are trained to know what questions to ask. I know it's scary, but you are doing the right thing by making the call. I'm sorry this has happened to you. I am praying for you to have the strength to make the call. God bless you, dear one.

Just tell them that. They'll probably start asking you questions about who, what, when, where, and how. Then I would think they would give you advise and options on where and what to do next. Sorry I can't be of more help. Just call them NOW!!!!

just call and talk to someone and you will find that it was easy-er then you would think and it will help to talk and find the support you needed and the way to make that darkness to go away for you heal. and to find the happiness you realy need to have in life and living.
