The word nativity it is ancient greek as used in the context of the bible means an astrological reading of the stars/horoscope. It wasn't until later that it etymologically changed to mean birth in old french.
The Nativity of Jesus was the horoscope on his birth that prophetized his future. The three magi as reffered to in the original text (before they became wise men and kings in later translations) were seers who read the skies at his birth. The star in the sky was the significant astrological event that made the birth of Jesus significant.

And if one isn't supposed to read omens then what's all this talk about god speaking to them through signs. And answering prayers with signs.

I think that's a pretty big generalization you're making about Christians. I, for one, consider myself a Christian, but also believe there is Truth in just about everything, including astrology and horoscopes.
But I understand what you meant (I think) so here is my answer to your question:
Many people of various faiths (not only Christianity) are afraid of exploring different belief systems (for example, ones that may include astrology or horoscopes). Most of these fears are based on ignorance about the topic, incorrect information passed to them as fact, a belief that evil spirits are involved, or quite simply stubborn closed-mindedness.
There seems to be a very strong tendency in humans in general (Christian or otherwise) to adamantly deny the possibility of their belief system being based purely on faith, and not on fact. Many times, they actually begin to confuse the two...even in the science fields (like thinking the earth was flat, even though it had been proven to be round). Realizing one of their beliefs is wrong can be scary for those who have built their entire lives upon those beliefs. If one of them is proven wrong, that could lead to their entire faith being shattered... That's a scary feeling for anyone.

I don't think so isn't in Jeremiah 27:9 and Deuteronomy 18:14. I don't think so, but I know many christians that still believe that bs. Yes, I am well read on the Bible, I've read it a few times from beginning to end. I know few christians that have done this. I've also studied the bible by topics, noticing the verses that support certain beliefs. I've always come out with the same conclusion. Good book about morals and stuff but nothing that had not been written before its times. A lot of contradicting information as well and not very original.

Christians (some) read their horoscopes, and astrological profiles as a form of entertainment. Others claiming to be Christians actually believe.
Some Christians drink, gamble, swear, do drugs, etc.--doesn't make it right--and does make some of these people hypocrites.

Astrology and Horoscopes deal with the idea of "predestination." Most (most, but not all) Christian sects believe in free-will, that is, you have the power to change what will happen to you. Horoscopes imply that you do not have free-will, that you do not have choice.

Horoscopes are a form of witchcraft and thinking the stars will make you money and bring you things, only God can do that if it is in his perfect will. God is perfect and doesn't need to use horoscopes to see into the future he knows all things, satan using the horoscopes to abuse and corrupt minds of people.

Horoscopes are considered a form of divination...
Christians consult God...not the daily horoscope.
Did you read yours today:
It said:
"Today you will be enlightened. A stranger will reveal a strange truth to you, that you were never aware of. Be careful to keep anger in check, and accept such wisdom gracefully."
(lol...sorry I couldn't resist. I know it sounds conceited, but I only meant it as a joke.) Seriously though, the Bible tells us not to consult mediums, omens, etc...We are to consult God through prayer.

Astronomy is accepted but NOT Astrology (or horoscopes).
God has given signs and wonders to SHOW Himself
He wants us to follow his REVELATION (His Holy Word)
today, since He has reveled Himself in His Son and His Word.
He has used stars (wisemen followed) and rainbows (promise to Noah) in the past and other elements in the Heavens.
But He Himself "Is the bright and morning star"

Because people rely on it for their guidance instead of the Holy Spirit that Jesus Christ gives them upon their acceptance of Him as their Savior, therefore making it a god that is unacceptable to Christ. He even said you can read the signs in the heavens, but you do not know who stands before you. He came to bring about the fulfilment of what they had before, now we know the fulfillment has come and should live accordingly.

Who said that Christians do not believe in Astrology or Horoscopes? Where did you get that idea?
I am of the opinion that true Christians are directed to just leave it alone, but not directed to believe or not believe in it. The way I read the guide book for the Christian faith, the lights in the Heavens are for signs, seasons, etc thus that can be believed. In my opinion the Horoscope is the opinion of another as to the revealed message by those lights for one based upon the opinion of the one declaring the Horoscope.
Now you ask yourself, should one just accept the opinion of another without other evidence as pure fact? If one does question is it a display of lack of belief or is it an inquiry to prove or disprove the fact that belief is based upon other evidence?
In my opinion one can not know the mind of another thus to declare the unbelief position is in place may be in error without the first confirmation that such is in fact true. And again in my opinion this confirmation must be supported by two witnesses such as words and actions to witness to the affirmation of the confirmation.
Did I confuse you, good now just smile and rethink your question in a manner that would not indicate all or most Christians do not believe, but that some Christians do not believe. Then maybe you can answer your own question with a simple answer like; "such is their choice to believe or not believe".
Do have a good day.
