so about her, i asked her out at the beggining of the school year, and she said no because she just wanted to be friends. we've been through a lot this year. now we were talking yesterday and she wrote on the instant messenger: i like u u are what i've been looking for for a long time, but im scared i know that u can do better than me. and if i tell people then they'll make fun of me.

what do you think i should do now..? i told her that i dont feel that way just so you know. any suggestions??

If she is serious about being no good for you then long-term you are going to have problems. On the other hand, this might be a rhetorical ploy to shield herself from rejection. You know her better than we do, but it's possible that friendship is all she can handle. If you're still interested, though, she's opened the door for a more serious relationship and all you have to do is walk through it. Just don't plan on picking her ego off the floor for an indefinite period--the work gets harder the longer you do it and the pay goes down over time.

Move on and up, Bro.
I'd be wondering what changed her mind in the first place. Any change in your status? Just make sure you're not trying to hook up with a social climbing empty-headed um, mallrat? 'cause when she digs someone else after climbing up your back, you lose.
Ah, well, was gonna take the other side of the argument as well, but that wouldn't exactly answer any questions, so I'm gonna leave that to subsequent posters.

Tread lightly my friend. It sounds like she may have some issues with self-esteem/self-concept (i.e. thinking you are too good for her and being worried about what others think.) If you are still interested in her, take it slow and casual and see what happens. Summertime is always a great time to "feel things out" since the element of school is somewhat out of the equation.

well i dont quite understand, if you dont like her, what is there to do? just keep being her friend, and help her get interested in other guys, to get her attention off u. if u do like her, ASK HER OUT!! for goodness sake!! shes obviously into you, and chances are her rational mind wont be thinkin about the fact that you told her that you werent into her.

sounds like she likes you and she's just digging for compliments, maybe you don't say as enough nice things to her. Either that or she just wanted to know if you were still interesting without having to make a commitment. Some girls just like to know that guys are are into them.

I think she likes you but the only thing that worries me is why would people make fun of her? Is that her way of saying she would be embarrassed of telling people she's dating you?

You should reallly talk to her and see why she feels that way about herself. She's proble going through something or have went through something. you should tell her you'll help her get through it if she lets you. Let her know how much you like her and how much ya'll should be together.

What a dumb thing to say to you. She must have no self esteem at all. Move on and find someone who this she is worth more.
