Really not that much. It is never to hurt their feelings 'cause we're just kiddin' around and I also might say something like a wise statement to them calling them a fool, like "While the wise will not partake in something inachievable just to provoke another, only the fool will start useless wars" for when one of my friends who is really quite obnoxious will start an argument just for the sake of fighting and causing trouble.
And this question really is teaching a lesson...
