Any time someone makes note of witches cursing or harming people some damned Wiccan comes in and says, "Nuh-uh, cus... we get what we give x3!!!" Whoop-tee-doo!!! Like that's really gonna stop some punkassed kid that just wants everyone to hurt as bad as they do. Let's be real about one thing: people are people, rules or no rules.
Do you honestly expect me to believe that all Wiccans are just the sweetest ittle hoeysuckers because of this lame assed rule? Please. We have gun laws here in the US that are pretty dang tough. Do you think that ended all of the Gun Crime?! Hell No. Witchcraft of any kind is power (if it even works at all). People are going to use it how they see fit. Every possible action has its penance. Coincidentally, that "x3" rule could be said about just about any action.
Honestly. Are curses real? Can you manipulate people? Are there ways to cause pain with witchcraft?? Well how do you expect me to believe that Wicca is only for peace? It's a tool. Like a gun.

And before some punk comes in here and runs straight out to left field....
I'm not saying that it's solely for hurting people, either. But don't sit there and expect me to believe that it's only for helping people. It's a tool. A blind, dumb, inanimate tool. Just like a bullet. It does what the user makes it do. And people do whatever they want to do.... rules or no rules.

We don't all do. I follow that particular rule, but don't act like it's cast in gold. You get some nuts in every religion.

Christian's have rules also, just like every other religion there are rules for conduct. The x3 rule is conduct generally. It talks about the energy you put out in the world. Christian's have rules for different reasons. It is interesting that you are so upset by this. Of course not every wiccan is going to be a nice person, not every person is nice. Wicca is a religion and a belief system. It has an awareness of the world and the energy that operates in the world but it is not a tool anymore than Islam or Christianity is a tool. Spells are like praying essentially. Wiccan's encourage an awareness of self and a respect for the world. Christiantity encourages you to love your fellow man and follow the Bible.

Oh no you don't!
You don't come in here blasting away at something you obviously have NO CLUE about. You probably even believe that only Wiccans are witches, or that all witches are Wiccan.
There is not one single true follower of the Old Path that would use their relationship with Spirit to cause harm - to humans or anything else. You won't even ever know the TRUE followers of the Old Path, because part of our credo is; To Be Silent!
Something I suggest you put into your life right away, so that you may learn a thing or two about what you blatantly have never studied deeply.
So rather than post idiotic suppositions, why not learn about Wicca and what its INTENT is.

I have never used magik to harm anyone. Ever. I may be tempremental from time to time and say not so nice things but in general I try my best not to hurt people. There's enough pain and anger in the world, and I really don't want to contribute to that.
That being said, I would never make a sweeping generalization and say ALL Wiccans are nice all of the time. It's just like any other religion-there are a few bad seeds who think of none but themselves and do intentionally hurt others-for selfish reasons, or just for plain amusement. But I will say this-every Pagan I have met thus far has been nothing but kind to me. Genuinely kind. Perhaps if and when it becomes more mainstream and accepted (making people more willing to admit to their practices) I will meet some unsavory ones, though I certainly hope not.

Why do Christians talk about the Ten Commandments like they're carved in stone?
Because that IS the golden rule for them, just like the Ten Commandments are the golden rules for Christians and Jews.
Are all Wiccans completely altruistic people only interested in good? Of course not. They're people just like everyone else, but you can find more than enough people in any religion who are out to manipulate that religion to their own malicious ends instead of using it as a guide to live a moral life as they were originally intended.
I think that's one of the reasons people keep saying "judge not, lest ye be judged" (I know I read that in a book somewhere).
Kind of a pity you see the faith of others as nothing more than "a blind, dumb, inanimate tool", though. It says volumes about how little you have in your own heart.

Funny you should ask if it is made out of gold, since Christians have something we call the Golden Rule - Do unto others as you would have done unto you. Then there's karma. The point is that all belief systems have a guideline for behaving, and the Law of Three (the x3 rule, as you refer to it) is merely a Wiccan code of conduct. It's nothing more sinister than that.

The rule of 3 isn't to scare anyone but wiccans. Its a reminder to them that anything they send out can come back to them "times 3". So they may not want to send out any NEGATIVE energy or it could come back to haunt them. They aren't being a smart *ss or silly, their being cautious and practical. Look at like the Golden Rule. "Treat others as you would have them treat you" is that lame? The rule of 3 is almost the same, if you treat people with respect and deference and not try to harm them thru any magical means then nothing will come back to harm you : )) So they're just covering their own butt's with that rule.

Three is the number of the Triple Goddess so it is associated with alot of the Guidelines of Wicca. There aren't any strict Dogmatic rules. just guidelines to keep you safe. If you live your life negatively you send out negative energy and that energy reciprocates, builds and comes back to you. Same with positive energy. Why three?? Three is the number for alot of incidents in our lives if you think about it. Haven't you ever heard "These Things happen in Threes" ??
We don't claim to have all the answers as Wiccans, just a good idea.

Heck no Our famiy is the entire identical faith and whilst now we have institution household dinners there may be nonetheless blood at the desk routinely over unique devout doctrines or ideas. It's first-class. however on the finish of the day we nonetheless preserve having household dinners and get togethers and every person will continually be there for each and every different and that's what's fundamental (I recognize you requested this simply to atheists, however I feel if a household is near ample and loves each and every different and each and every individual is aware of the opposite does care and admire them then they must be competent to speak approximately in general some thing irrespective of ideals or loss of)

Okay I'm not about to make someone have a horrible car accident that will disfigure them for life if I know I will get that in some form back at me 3 times worse. I don't know if curses can really work but I THINK that if someone believes in curses they can be affected by them but only then. Of course not all Wiccans are sweet and wonderful, though the ones I know (including my mother and father) are very kind and really don't do any harm to anyone unless that person has hurt me or one of them or one of my brothers or any other person they care deeply about. But who doesn't? And if you think that rule is stupid then why aren't you also complaining about other rules in other religions? Like "Thou shalt not kill"? After all most of those rules if broken you burn in hell for eternity supposedly, does that stop christians from killing? Nope. In fact they kill "in the name of god" all the time. We also have a rule that says "Do no harm" It's our number one rule that you just don't do anything. And that like the 3x rule is not just magic related, it also mean that if you punch someone or something you are breaking the rules. But hey, that's not gonna stop someone from defending themselves or something now is it? Nope. But it's just like a rule against adultery doesn't make it so no one cheats on their spouse. ALL rules get broken.

why do christians argue that christians believe in love and peace? that won't stop some angry christian from beating up kids. (trust me, i've known some mean christians.)
what i'm saying is that wicca, just like every other religion, teaches kindness. that doesn't mean every member of that religion is kind, but that the religion isn't to blame if they aren't.
