In some states if the vehicle is older than 20 years and there is no title present to transfer they may perform a non title or paperless title transfer if you can show proof of how you came to own the vehicle. In your case the vehicle is only 10 years old so it should have been titled and a title should be present.

Now if the vehicle was titled and it was titled in your name without a lien holder you will be able to get a "replacement" title from your states Dept of Transportation or Revenue. Now if the vehicle was in your name and you paid it off from a bank or finance company they may have sent you a title through the mail when you made your final payment. If they did and you then lost this copy of the title. Your looking at having to get a release of lien from that institution to obtain a copy of title for the reason that the lien holder still appears on your state title record since it was not taken off as a result of the final payment.

Now if you purchased the vehicle from someone who gave you a title and now you've lost that title your looking at a totally differnet situation. This called a "Lost" title, and if a lien holder appears on the vehicle record your looking at a more difficult situation.

I am currently researching this subject and am really close to finalizing my research which will then be truned in to a Lost Title how to manuel for use in all fifty states.

All cars must carry title, no matter how old the car is. I may be interested in the 1994 Jeep, but I want to know the price of the vehicle you are willing to sell. E-mail me at BARosado@gmail.com and I may be interested in it.

You cant sell your jeep unless you have a title but if you lost it and you are the owner you can get a new one issued to you at the title department..

No, only autos that did not have titles orginally can be sold without one. If you lost your title ( which it sounds like) you can merely request a new title from the state, since when you bought it orginally you would have titled it with the state and registered it.
