Ok, i know most men would struggle with sexual temptation, lust, but from a Christian perspective, how should i deal with pornography. for my job i use a computer and internet every day, and that i believe is my biggest battle. i know that we are not given obstacles to fall and never overcome them, but rather to over come them in Christ. I have tried an online accountability program called X3Watch that sends a list of internet websites you visit to your chosen accountability partner, but i've installed it twice on my computer and it wont work. my accountablity partner over th last 3 months has not recieved an email once yet (yes correct email and details but just wont work). So that doesn't work. what can i do to break these chains, is there hope for me!!?!?!

brother hold tight, your doing everything right but the road blocks are being set everywhere you turn, I am a Bible college student studying for the ministry and I still struggle with this but in the years that have passed since I first came to know Christ I have been overcoming I have not looked at porn but once in a year but brother that once was just recently. It was not really nasty just typing in random words on google picture and seeing what would pop up, still I consider this just as bad as the other. I stopped and gathered myself to my knees and began to pray and ask forgiveness. This is all I can tell you to do and try to do it before it happens. I know one of the best things for me was fasting from the computer but you can't do that with your job but if your going to look at something have your Bible next to you and open it. Have a Psalm or favorite passage that can help calm you and pray brother. Ask for the Holy Spirit to help you He will and you will grow stronger every time. We have to put on the spiritual armor brother or it is impossible to get through. Hope this helps,

as always as it is,

in service to Him,

jason

Do you now or have you ever had a problem with accessing adult materials over the Internet? This seems to be the key question here.

One can use the Twelve-Step concept of not accessing adult materials today. Don't worry about tomorrow. Don't go to those sites today.

Frankly, though, I think you have a bigger issue to address than just not accessing adult materials. Assuming that you work for a business at their location, your company is likely to have a policy about not using their equipment to access pornography, gambling and other sites. Violation of similar policies has resulted in people losing their jobs. Depending on the site, you may also be skirting legal issues as well.

Check with your company's IT department as to what blocking software they have. Most major companies have such software now. They may be able to help you select software for use on your home systems. Check CyberPatrol or other screening software packages. If you use any screening software, have someone else password the program. It'll reduce the chances of you "accidentally" turning off the screening program.

First thing man, just relax. It seriously is not the end of the world. If you think you are an addict, I agree with the previous person...get some professional help. If it is simply something you are struggling with and would like to work on, here are my thoughts. Temptation will always be there. If it's not through sex, it will be through something else. And temptation effects us all differently. Also, remember that you can lust over anything. 'Lust' simply means, "I must have it now!' A Glutton literally lusts over food. Think about it, when you are lusting over a woman you are in fact thinking to yourself...'I want her now.' Lust is a very general sin...however it always gets associated with sexual desire. I don't know if you necessarily have anything to worry about. You made it clear how much you love your girlfriend. She loves you, and is super supportive. You are faithful, not just to God, but also to her. As long as you continue to love her and love God first and foremost, everything else will fall into play. I guess I didn't really answer anything. For that I am sorry because I know you were seeking advice. Hopefully this will offer more support then anything, and let you know that you are not alone in this matter.

i know exactly how you feel. i am a Christian that used to struggle with a massive porn addiction. lemme give you some advice:

1. pray. God will always help you out of temptation if you ask for it.

2. before you visit a porn site, think about this: "what would Jesus do if He were sitting next to me?" this deterred me often from viewing pornography

3. talk to your pastor about it. your pastor will not judge you, he's there to help.

4. my final suggestion is more technical-download an internet browser called Mozilla Firefox. after you are done there is a program called blockXXX. this blocks pornographic images from being displayed on the computer. when it asks for a code, have your accountability partner set the code (i would suggest your fiance).

good luck. God bless you.

All you have to do is install some decent spyware and you want get a thing that you don't want to get and your computer will work properly too. Try a suite of protection downloaded from the net and they are all excellent and free. They are Spybot Search and Destroy, Windows own Windows Defender and AVG anti virus. If you do this you will not have to worry about getting any kind of malware on your computer, EVER. I would recommend CCleaner too, another free program. The 1st three I've just mentioned actually run in the background blocking everything that you don't want. You will be free then to worship your God and your computer will work so much better too. A messianic Jew is a Jew that believes that Jesus is the Messiah. Christians and Messianic Jews believe that Jesus is the Messiah. They are Jews. The point of view of the anti Messianice Jews is best summed up by Mark JPAS when he said "it is acceptable to blend some degree of foreign spiritual elements with Judaism. The one exception is Christianity, which is perceived to be incompatible with any form of Jewishness. This is the double standard that is applied to Christianity even though Jesus is considered the Jewish Messiah in Christianity. Messianic Jews are looked at with even greater disdain. Why? its a cover for there own deviations from Judaism. Some Jews need to maintain a connection to Jewish family because they have deviated so much from traditional Judaism that many Orthodox question their Jewishness. They need find some way to distract attention because of there deviation from the Torah. This is done by pointing their finger at others to direct attention away from their own actions. You can't give yourself a title and expect that it makes you something. This is the argument that has been used against Jews that decide that Jesus is the Messiah. We are told that the mere belief of a different nature of God immediately invalidated a Jews Jewishness. At the same time Jews that become atheists, pantheists or stop practicing any element of their religion we are told are still Jews. They say that you can believe in anything but Jesus. Jews call conversion "joining the tribe". Things that would never fly in Orthodox or for that matter Messianic Judaism can be found in the Reform and Reconstructionist movements. A good example of this is a previous question asked here. The person asking worshiped the God Ferris but did not believe in him or the Jewish God. The focus of the question was" ...would you PERSONALLY feel comfortable welcoming me not just as a fellow congregant at your Synagogue, but as a member of the Tribe?" (so he was clearly asking about converting to Judaism). The response was "Reform Judaism covers a wide swath of beliefs and practices and I am sure you will be wholly accepted. ... I personally would accept you whole heartily as a fellow Jew." So some Jews will accept all kinds of deviations from the Torah but not belief in "Jesus". Let's not forget the Reform movement wanted to change the sabbath to Sunday to be more like Christianity. Most Messianic Jews are Torah observant yet you can become an atheist, stop practicing their faith, become a Buddhist, join a Unitarian Church and still be a Jew in the eyes of Reform/Reconstructionist Jews. Most Orthodox when asked about other Jews will say they don't know what non Orthodox Jews are. The same applies to the other sects. Speaking of sects Jews will tell you there are no sects but its not true. Rabbinical Jews follow an understanding of their faith that was established 1,900 years ago. They have their own canon of Scripture. There are also non Rabbinical Jews such as the Ethiopian Jews that follows the pattern of the Christian Old Testament and they have many additional books that they consider to be scripture. A group called the Karaites is the opposite of the Ethiopian and only believe in the 5 Books of Moses. Rabbinical Jews call Karaites "a sect of Judaism". You can goggle it and see for yourself. Don't let anyone tell you that there are no sects in Judaism. They say the the teachings of Jesus are very different from Judaism. They also claim that Jesus taught nothing new from the rabbis before him. Then they we tell you that there were no rabbis until a hundred years after the time of Jesus. Its all about winning the argument to them not about what's true. The problem is not differences but similarities. You should know ALL the writers of the Christian Bible were Jews but one. Much of our Scriptures are shared. The vast majority of early believers in Jesus were Jews. So when you hear the exact opposite you need to keep that in mind. A Jew can believe in Jesus and still be a Jew. Edit: those that make personal accusations should include links or shut up.

I don't know exactly where to find this, I can ask a friend of mine who has it on their computer (even my pastor has it on his). That is a block that can be put on so you can not get on those sites without a password. If you work with someone you trust enough to do that for you, or maybe you can have a friend come in on your lunch break and do that for you?

Talk with your pastor, or some other men in your church.

A wonderful book that can help encourage, deliver and strengthen you is ; "Every Mans Battle".

Praise the Lord for your humbleness and willingness to be cleansed and to become more like Christ.

I think that you should go to your Pastor, looking at pornography becomes an addiction. It has been researched and said that pornography does the same thing to a mind that crack cocaine does. It actually scars the mind in the same way, once you use it (or see it) your flesh wants more. Fight those temptations with the Word, memorize scriptures like Eph 6:12 "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against pricipalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darknessof this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places." Also, pray over your work computer and your home computer. Remember that temptation always comes with a way out for believers, it says this in the Bible , 1Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has overtaken you exept such as is common to man:but God is faithful, who will not let you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it." Picture it like this, put two people together arm in arm, one person is "temptation" and the other person is "the way of escape" , now "temptation" cannot go anywhere near you without "way of escape" that is God's promise to you in His Word. Now when "temptation" comes, you know that you always have the option to CHOOSE which one you will go with. I hope that this encourages you and helps you deal with the problem you are having. Again, I urge you to go to your Pastor and tell him about it and ask for help, it will be a burden lifted when you are getting help. Satan wants you to feel ashamed and embarrsed to go get help because he knows as long as you are not getting prayed for and as long as you are feeling that you have no hope then he has you right where he wants you, he has the control where he wants it, in your mind. Get the book by Joyce Meyer, " Battlefield of the Mind" it will open your eyes, plus it is an awesome Bible study that you and your girlfriend can do together. I will be praying for you.

You have to seriously get into the word and renew your mind. then flee youthful lust, and if you can't handle it then take it out of your life. And I mean it, this world is getting tough and for young people it is worse than older folks. If you have to change your job then do it and don't look back. We need young men and women to stand up for God and do what is necessary. Some accountability program won't get it, you have got to be full of the Holy Spirit and walking with God. Get up every morning at 6 am and go to a prayer meeting 7 days a week and you will see changes. Start this habit for life.
Your whole future is at stake and if you can't get control, it will ruin your future marriage and have you demon possesed.

First let me say Bravo for the courage that it took to bring this problem out. Your honesty and willingness to change are the first step. I also want you to know that you are not bad or evil. You are fighting an addiction. The first step would be to pray and ask God for his help. (I speak for experience I fight the same temptation every day) Second is to stop hiding it. Let your Girlfriend know you fight it. Let your pastor know and close friends who can be trusted not to punish you. Set google search to strict safe guard and when you are tempted to call up porn just think if Christ was looking over my shoulder would I bring up this site? Well he is looking over your shoulder. Not in an angry judging way but he is rooting for you. If you start to bring up porn start another task. Get away. Lastly if you do relapse don't give up. No matter how many times you fall Christ will pick you back up.

God bless and good luck.
