I don't believe because of all the bs that surrounds it. All of the holes in the stories.

If I was getting married to a "virgin" who is all of a sudden pregnant (and we didn't have intercourse), and she says "it was GOD", than me NOT believing her is the DEVIL making me not believe??

First, not all religious people say or believe that it is the devil making you not believe. Man has freedom of choice and a lot of people think that a choice that slights God is a sign that the devil has influenced them, even if only indirectly. And who knows, maybe they're right. Maybe.

Not believing what another person tells you, however, involves a lot more than that: your history with that person, for instance. If your example is a reference to the conception of Christ, yes -- it took great faith on Joseph's part to believe that. But consider the culture in which they lived. Mary was from a good family and if she had even been seen with another man when she was promised to Joseph, it would have been a great shame not only to her family, but to her lineage and everyone with whom they were associated. "Good girls" just weren't alone in the company of a man, even if they were engaged, so if she had been with someone, it would not have been a secret -- someone would have known about it. That is some of the background to Joseph's knowledge of Mary and lended credibility to her claim.

Your skepticism is born of our culture, where "seeing is believing" and premarital sex is downright recreational. Your hesitation is understandable and you have to find your own answers, but personally, I don't think the devil is making you not believe.

Hummmmmmmmm.
The "Devil" made his choices, and we make ours, as long as we are willing to accept the consequences of our choices, so be it.
In that lays the problem, (as I see it.) far to many people from both sides of the isle want someone else to blame, when in fact they (we, me) need to shoulder the responsibility in the right place.
IE: If the fiance does not choose to believe the virgins explanation, is it easier for her to blame "The Devil" rather than face the fact the man does not trust her? I am guessing it is easier to blame "The Devil", yet in the story this guy believes the explination, does God get credit or does the guy? The guy is either an idoit, or he has found a woman he trusts beyond what most of us can ever understand.

I am a christian and I don't say that at all. Religion is based on faith in what we cannot understand. If everything were obvious and clear we would no longer have faith. Can you have faith that 1+1+2? No, because faith is when we believe but cannot understand and there is no specific proof of it. If you do not believe in God it only means that you have less faith in what you don't understand. That is okay. As long as you don't start flying around with your eyes glowing and speaking in a voice that is not your own, the devil is having no big influence on you.

First off, Christianity is not a religion because reiligion is man trying to find a way to get to Heaven and to reach God. Christianity is God reaching down to us despite our many mistakes and making a way for us to go to Heaven. Satan does decieve people. He hides things from people. Like if your friends are drinking and you see that they are having a great time, that's all you see. You don't see that achohol will ruin your liver and make you pretty much sensless. Joseph had faith in God when he believed Mary. That's why he was chosen to be Jesus' earthly father.

I asked a question similar to this, and before I answer, I'd just like to say brace yourself for the incoming flood of close-minded answers. Christians only believe in one god and any other god is either false or the devil. I can't explain, that's just what they believe.

Technically, yes the devil would make (who I'm assuming to be Joseph in your analogy) the man doubtful and want to leave the woman (whom I assume you're referring to Mary?). Then the man /Joseph would never support the woman or protect her and then we'd all be in trouble because then the baby (I'm aiming high, to be Jesus) would never grow up and rather be killed prematurely never to die for our salvation.

The lack of belief is the desire of the devil . He would have wanted to make us more vulnerable. Even lack of faith in the devil also works in his favor, for if we have nothing to believe in our foundation in what we do believe in have a greater chance of crumbling -that is if one believed in the devil-which I do because I was once an atheist which made me contemplate suicide several times-he claimed my soul twice but I refuse to let him do it again. I hope you will reconsider...And okay, so I'm a Jesus Freak...there's a book on that too!

Because they've become so blind to anything else but their faith that they stop seeing other things, and truths around them.

Also, there is something about humans being elitists that is involved with religion. People like to believe that they are better than others and therefore will have greater things, in this case, heaven. It makes them feel like they are the 'chosen ones'.

No. It would be your human reasoning. Faith is believing in something not seen. The "devil" don't help, but you and I were born spiritually blind. It goes beyond human touch and sight. Speaking of sight, your avatar is offensive!!!!!! Try to look inside for your God given Beauty!.

I have never heard anyone say that, but those who don't belive in God have little faith and sometimes no faith. And ignorant Christians don't always love God as much as they claim and sometimes they are just blinded and think higher of themselves cuz they christians. Christians are still sinner and scumbags, but they are FORGIVEN!

The Bible tells us that there is only two sided to this great controversy, and that is Christ and Satan. So if you are not on the side of God and His son then you ARE on Satan's side. There are no other sides. Not even your own because that is still not on Gods side, and that makes you be on Satan's side. Got it?
