My parents were immigrants. They went through the whole legal process 45 years ago, to come to America. Then they became American Citizens. Why should Illegal immigrants have it easy? I've heard them say, "we work in your fields" you know what, no one asked you to. You should all go back. And do it the right way. I have an idea, go protest in your country. Then maybe our schools, freeways, medical clinics and prisons wouldn't be overcrowded.

I am sorry you feel the way you do, but I think you are being narrow minded and intolerant. I was once an illegal alien in this country but I always paid my taxes and respected the laws. My brother and I even went to a private school because we where not allowed to attend public school, and my parents had to jump thru hoops if one of us got sick in order to pay for the doctor's visit and medicine.
Legal and illegal immigrants are what have made this country great. Unless you are a NATIVE AMERICAN, you are of immigrant descent. Too bad the American Indians did not have tougher immigration laws back in the days of COLONIZATION. Did you know that there are Americans who have migrated to other countries because their Social Security retirement payments would not be enough to cover their basic expenses here in the U.S.? What if they where persecuted and prosecuted for the crime of living where they where not born. The world has changed a lot since your parents migrated, and so has this country, for good or bad. It's time we all pull together instead of finding ways to divide.
And may I suggest you stop listening to the racist zealots that call themselves patriots and get to know us. I promise you we are not as BAD as the say we are.
God Bless!!!!

Illegal immigrants don't have it easy. They're afraid to contact 911 if the have an emergancy because they could be deported. They're afraid to go to the hospital because it could result in their deportation.

Are you or anybody you know willing to work in fields so they don't have to? I doubt it.

Our schools, freeways, medical clinics and prisons aren't overcrowed because of illegal immigrants. They're overcrowded because of:

1. Not enough funding to build new schools.

2. Freeways are not overcrowded due to illegal immigrants. Their overcrowded because more people are driving cars; far more than what the freeway systems were designed to handle.

3. medicals clinics are also the victims of underfunding.

4. Prisons are overcrowded because of draconian drug laws, not because of illegal immigrants.

The most basic premise why the feel they have a right is with Mexican education. In both California that I know of so far, and in Mexico, their children are taught that us Americans stole their lands in 1848 in the war, even though eventually their were paid $25 million that I know of since then. They are taught from an early age that it is their right, responsibility, and birthright to reclaim those lands. Are you suprised to learn there is no federal law banning the teaching of hate in any school in the country?

The illegals tell me that the Mexican leaders were not authorized by the people to sell their land. They futher explain they want those lands back for the gold and oil that is there. Then they tell me screw Bush, screw Fox, they are going to do anything they want an no government can stop them.

It's not immigration, it's colonization. Google La Reconquista and similar phrases you will find.

You parents came here for the American dream. They come here for the Mexican dream. You do the math where this will lead as our government refuses to recognize that fact as we are on a course for another war for independance.

Last thought: Let's understand the right way. Our leaders right now are dicussing not combating colonization, but to slow it down under the disguise of immigration so in a few years as many as 60% can cross legally to colonize. That's not immigration, that's colonization. Period.

OK, one other last thought: Argento, how many news articles will it take to convince you that many of you are not as good as you say you are?? Just as slavery had it's underground railroad, illegals have them, and I have been recent to understand the entire city of Maywood California is one of them. Even Arnold announced they have long underground, AIR CONDITIONED tunnels to break our laws.

I think we should view it as Mexico does, that you can lose your citizenship should you spend too much time and interets in your previous country. You don't see it now, we've just discovered what's going on, but in the course we are on, they will come knocking on your door to get you to see it their way to colonize and cede back to Mexico. They are that organized.

Where is the diversity from proud hispanics that say the will take California in twenty years, the most populous state?

If you stay an American, we would fight that injustice together. Or does that sound foriegn to you already in our great and proud melting pot?

Dagnabbit, another thought: Fencing won't work, it's a false security, I can show you photos of where illegal immigrants charged at least ten cars in a single span to knock it over. Don't depend on it that much, but it's still just a deterrent.

You would have to know much of the political history of Mexico, you see all the way from Mexican Revolution to late seventies, Mexican government had a subsidiary policy, mainly to peasants or people from countryside. they got used to an easy living, having everything easy and cheap. However, as from Luis Echeverria (president of Mexico), things changed, they forgot about them and those policies, and instead started to take the money for POP and most of the Rulers, It did not matter what was the position in government. The Resources are in a very few hands.. On the other hand, there are no jobs.. Now, there is a large sector of Mexicans in this country that have contributed to the United States developing, mainly people from central and north of Mexico, because this people did not have things as easy as some states in the South of Mexico. this people were used to get things free from government. is a long story. So as stupid as it may sound, some are so iliterate, from south Mexico, that they think they have a right to ask for things. Even though now thing have changed as policies in the US have become more strict.

Illegal immigrants say in defense “America is a country of immigrants”. So who cares if the U.S. is made of immigrants we all went though some type of trouble to become an American. America land of the free that is probably one reason they come here and do what they want here.

I say Yahoo to your parents. We need to make harsher laws against illegal immigrant's. Then the laws that are made need to be enforced. Right now all of the politicians are setting on a fence just waiting for us the American public to take a firm stand on illegals. Then of course they will vote the way that will get them back into what ever political post they held before. It is a shame that no one wants to take responsibility for their own actions.

They feel they have the right to do whatever they want here, because they get away with it!! Can't think of ANY other country where ILLEGAL immigrants can so brazenly and openly behave like they do ... in most other countries they would lie low, hoping nobody will catch them ... this country's policy is weird to say the least!!

Because they no in their country it is against the law to speak out against the government, they will get arrested or shot. And here they have the Mexican activist groups, that tell them what to do and how to do it. Their Mexican activist's groups should be in Mexico doing the protesting. Then maybe the government will change. But they don't have the guts either.

Amen to that! It is a slap in the face of people like your parents who did the noble thing and followed the law of the land. Illegals weaken the integrity and sacrifice of those who live within the law.

They do NOT have the wuevos to STAY in their OWN country and make changes,so they come here and sponge off the taxpayers!!!!!!!!!!! All our WORTHLESS politicians, from Bush on down, are CATERING to the ILLEGALS!!! The MAJORITY of construction workers are ILLEGALS!!! These are not "lowpaying" jobs!!! And even if they were to ALL work in the fields,i would rather pay MORE for my veggies, than to have some ILLEGAL hacking up bloody t.b. on them!!!!!!!!!!!!!
