I recently asked a question about why Mormons are treated with comtempt and got some really good answers. I also got alot of the same blind hate that I found on my mission. My question now is what are you afraid of. Generally we attack what we fear can it be that you are afraid that we could be right and you really want to convince yourself that we are wrong so you wont have to change?

I am not afraid of Mormons, in fact when I lived in the city and Mormons would come by I would tell them that if they could show me some scriptural foundation for their beliefs (Old or New testament) I would certainly invite them in and listen to their spiel. I never have had a mormon in my residence. According to them I still going to heaven anyway.(LOL) What if your wrong?

I am afraid of what the future holds for my family, especially my children. I fear that while the world keeps getting smaller through technological advances, the human race is getting more divided, fearful of being swallowed up and losing our individualities, whether it is defined by race, religion, social status, whatever. I cringe at the number of countries that have unqualified leaders making life changing decisions.

As for the second part of your question about being Morman and people attacking you out of fear.... People attack for many more reasons than fear. Insinuating that you are right and all others are wrong based on a religious belief that you feel is concrete but others see as unproven stirs up a whole plethora of feelings that will create negative responses from people.

Leads me to wonder what you are afraid of?

Is this a true question or are you trying to get people to go to your church? It's true that people often fear what they don't understand. A good example is that some people are hateful towards gay/lesbian/bi people because they just don't understand them, are ignorant (lack of education) about this group of people, or are really just that mean. This has gone on with different races, religions, and other issues. It's sad that some people turn to hate when they don't understand rather then love. But that's not all people. The only thing to fear is fear it's self. And after you get over that you can have fun.

I've always thought Mormons were really nice and loving people whenever they came to my house or crossed paths with them somewhere. But when it came to discussing their religion, I just politely told them I was not interested. I've always treated them with respect and expect the same. It is great when people are dedicated to their religion and beliefs and want to spread it around. But there has to be respect and not have a pushy attitude or put down others if they do not follow the same beliefs.

As for others reacting with contempt, it's just ignorance. Maybe they just don't understand why Mormons do this and don't feel comfortable discussing personal religious issues with others.

I've never feared Mormons, some of my family members are Mormons.

I'm afraid of worms. I have no recollection of ever having been molested as a child, but the fear of worms and anything wormlike is extreme. Sometimes, if I'm spooked enough about it, even my fingers give me the willies.

I'm afraid of getting mauled by a bear, attacked by a shark, umm drowning, my house catching on fire while I sleep...
I think some fears are rational and necessary. But I'm not sure that blind hatred is fueled by fear as much as it is fueled by good old fashioned ignorance.
I don't agree with your faith, but I think you mean well and I'm sure you're a good person.
Good luck on your mission, whatever that may be.

I'm afraid that one day i'll wake up and everything will exist only as a dream. I'm afraid that one day i'll end up alone, rejected by the ones I love, the ones I care about, but then I would start my journey as a wanderer and peace keeper.

God, by whatever name a person calls him gave men and women freedom of choice.
I don't condemn those that make a choice differently from mine.
But personally I'm afraid, or would be, of dying without knowing Jesus Christ.
But once again we all have choices to make, we just have to understand that choices have consequences.
