I don't think they all are, but I don't think they're all sweet little angels either. I grew up with a bunch of kids that thought they were witches. They were always talking about this rule where you get what you give x3, but they were constantly talking about hating and cursing and manipulating and everything else.

My conclusion was that Wiccans are people, too. As such, they have as much of a capacity to do bad things as anyone else. It would be stupid of me to assume that just because there was a get what you give rule that all Wiccans would only do right because of it. We have tons of laws in the US, but even the 'lawful' people break them from time to time.

What makes Wiccans so different??

I believe Wiccans are more justified in their religion than most...and I hope people read this whole posting!

Wicca, witchcraft and Paganism are victims of more misconceptions than most other religions.
1) Wiccans worship Satan
The figure of Satan is part of the Christian mythos. Those of us who do not follow Christianity, do not accept the existance of this character. We do not worship Satan, nor do we summon demonic forces to do our bidding.

2) Wiccans engage in ritual orgies
This misconception may have arisen from the practice of doing ritual in the nude (also called skyclad). Not all Wiccans practice this way, and there is nothing sexual about it.

3) Wicca is only for women
Wicca has attracted a great number of women because of the focus on the Goddess, which is an uncommon alternative among other mainstream (and male-oriented) religions. But Wicca is open to everyone, male or female.

4) Wicca has no rules
This little untruth is often used by our detractors to show that we must live wild and unrestrained lives. We may not have books of commandments to bind our lives, but many Wiccans do follow one single law: Harm None. Those two words have as much power as an entire book of rules. We refer to this statement as the Wiccan Rede and is part of a longer poem.

5) Wiccans cast spells and hexes to control people
If we really did this, Wiccans would all be wealthy, happy and powerful. We believe that for every action, there is a re-action, and that includes using magick for negative manner. Wiccans don't believe in a punishing God, but we do think that bad actions will come back and bite us in the butt (karmically speaking).

6) Wicca is a cult that is trying to recruit people
Wiccans believe that each individual's path of spirituality is valid, and no one path is better than any other. We do not convert or recruit anyone. Proselytizing is not a practice we follow. As for being a cult, most people these days are solitary practitioners and not part of any group. Hard to be in a cult when you are by yourself.

Maybe some people hate Wiccans because they think Wiccans worship Satan or don't acknowledge God or something like that. Maybe they think Wiccans are like the Pagans that persecuted the Christians many centuries ago??? This ain't my opinion, I'm just trying to answer the question.

What is Wicca? I know it's a religion, but what is it?

Because of ignorance. Instead of learning about it, they write it off as evil and satanic (which couldn't be further from the truth). It is a shame because I think people could learn a thing or two from Wiccans. Hell, from any other religion. There is a bit of truth in all religion.

I am a Christian, and I don't think your evil, unless your intentions are evil. I think it's the radical Christians that are evil because they say they are followers of Christ yet they are demeaning and rude to people, and judging other because of their beliefs. I have a VERY close friend who is Wiccan, and yes I pray for her and we talk about our beliefs equally, and of course I would love for her to convert, but I would NEVER push her, or call her beliefs dumb, or call her evil...In the bible it refers to witchcraft as the devil's practice because you are trying to have powers only the Lord should have. be it as it may, you are not evil, you are just using your right to free will.
I apologize for people's demeaning ways, and I hope it doesn't make you think bad of all Christians...cuz there are some Christians out there like me who REALLY understands what the Lord wants, and the Lord wants everyone to be treated equal! Wish you the best

Wiccan Reed:

Bide within the Law you must, in perfect Love and perfect Trust.
Live you must and let to live, fairly take and fairly give.

For tread the Circle thrice about to keep unwelcome spirits out.
To bind the spell well every time, let the spell be said in rhyme.

Light of eye and soft of touch, speak you little, listen much.
Honor the Old Ones in deed and name,
let love and light be our guides again.

Deosil go by the waxing moon, chanting out the joyful tune.
Widdershins go when the moon doth wane,
and the werewolf howls by the dread wolfsbane.

When the Lady's moon is new, kiss the hand to Her times two.
When the moon rides at Her peak then your heart's desire seek.

Heed the North winds mighty gale, lock the door and trim the sail.
When the Wind blows from the East, expect the new and set the feast.

When the wind comes from the South, love will kiss you on the mouth.
When the wind whispers from the West, all hearts will find peace and rest.

Nine woods in the Cauldron go, burn them fast and burn them slow.
Birch in the fire goes to represent what the Lady knows.

Oak in the forest towers with might, in the fire it brings the God's
insight. Rowan is a tree of power causing life and magick to flower.

Willows at the waterside stand ready to help us to the Summerland.
Hawthorn is burned to purify and to draw faerie to your eye.

Hazel-the tree of wisdom and learning adds its strength to the bright fire burning.
White are the flowers of Apple tree that brings us fruits of fertility.

Grapes grow upon the vine giving us both joy and wine.
Fir does mark the evergreen to represent immortality seen.

Elder is the Lady's tree burn it not or cursed you'll be.
Four times the Major Sabbats mark in the light and in the dark.

As the old year starts to wane the new begins, it's now Samhain.
When the time for Imbolc shows watch for flowers through the snows.

When the wheel begins to turn soon the Beltane fires will burn.
As the wheel turns to Lamas night power is brought to magick rite.

Four times the Minor Sabbats fall use the Sun to mark them all.
When the wheel has turned to Yule light the log the Horned One rules.

In the spring, when night equals day time for Ostara to come our way.
When the Sun has reached it's height time for Oak and Holly to fight.

Harvesting comes to one and all when the Autumn Equinox does fall.
Heed the flower, bush, and tree by the Lady blessed you'll be.

Where the rippling waters go cast a stone, the truth you'll know.
When you have and hold a need, harken not to others greed.

With a fool no season spend or be counted as his friend.
Merry Meet and Merry Part bright the cheeks and warm the heart.

Mind the Three-fold Laws you should three times bad and three times good.
When misfortune is enow wear the star upon your brow.

Be true in love this you must do unless your love is false to you.

These Eight words the Rede fulfill:

"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

WIKIPEDIA:

In religion and ethics, evil refers to the "bad" aspects of the behaviour and reasoning of human beings —those which are deliberately void of conscience, and show a wanton desire for destruction. In most cultures, the word is used to describe acts, thoughts, and ideas which are thought to (either directly or causally) bring about affliction and death —the opposite of goodness, which itself refers to aspects which are life-affirming, peaceful, and constructive. Aspects regarded as "evil" are though of as immoral, corrupt, corrupting, inhumane, selfish, and wicked.

Honestly, I know nothing about Wiccans and do not judge them as evil. I was told that they were "white" witches and I just said ah....okay. I don't know what that means but truthfully I never was interested enough to find out either.

I think Wiccans are misguided. They are neopagans who started mainly in the 60's as part of the hippie movement. Wicca is mostly younger women in their teens and early twenties who love the so called messages of bliss that Wicca preaches. Dancing around a fire and wearing flowers in your hair is not going to cut it when the Final Judgment comes.

The Bible perspective is clear. Do I think you are evil? I don't know you personally, so how would I know! Is practicing magic and glorifying other gods and making yourself god considered evil according to the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, Yes! So, with this in mind, do you think you are evil? Or is what your practicing evil? According to Christian beliefs, this is what is true. Hope this helps.
