God calls out to Abraham and tells him that tomorrow morning he is to take his only son Isaac (Hagar and Ishmael had left, so Isaac was his heir and only son), to a hill at Moriah and sacrifice him as a burnt offering. The next morning Abraham gets together two servants and his son Isaac. He then collects some firewood for the burnt offering, and saddles up his donkey. The group then set off for Moriah.

The next day, Abraham sees the hill where he is due to sacrifice Isaac. He tells the two servants to stay put while he and Isaac go there to worship. Abraham carries the fire and knife, Isaac the firewood. While walking up the hill, Isaac asks his father where the lamb for the sacrifice is. Abraham replies by saying that God himself will provide the lamb for them. They then reach the top of the hill. Abraham builds a small altar there and he lays out the wood on top. He then binds Isaac to the altar on top of the wood and draw his knife, ready for the sacrifice.

At that moment, an angel calls out to Abraham. The angel tells Abraham that he knows now that Abraham truly loves God, as he was prepared to give up his only son. Abraham then sees nearby a ram in a thicket, caught by its horns. He realizes that it is to be sacrificed as the burnt offering instead of Issac. The angel tells Abraham that because of what he did today his descendants will prosper and be many. Abraham, Isaac and the two servants then go back to Beersheba.

It seems that the Holy Quaran like to change what is written in the Holy Bible and more towards the Hagar descendent. Are they jealous of the Jewish people.

Abraham (aged 100), son of Terah, lives with his wife Sarah (aged 90, who is barren) and his son Ishmael (who was born of Hagar, one of Abraham's servants) in Canaan.

One day, God tells Abraham that his wife Sarah will bear a son, who'll be blessed by God. Abraham falls face down on the ground and laughs. He says to himself that he can't have a son when he's 100 and his wife is 90, and asks that Ishmael be blessed instead. God tells Abraham that nevertheless he will have a son this time next year, who shall be called Isaac, and that God's covenant will be with Isaac and his descendants, though Ishmael will also be blessed, and will father a great nation. Abraham then circumcises Ishmael and all the men of his household.

Later on, Abraham is sitting at the entrance of his tent (near the great tree of Mamre) when he sees three men nearby (who are actually angels). He runs to them and bows down, as he believes that they are holy. Abraham prays to God not to let them pass by. He then speaks to the three men, and tells them that they can stay at his tent where they can eat, wash their feet and rest, to which they agree. Abraham then goes back to his tent and asks Sarah to make some bread. He also tells a servant to fetch a calf for food and some milk. The men eat and drink whilst Abraham stands under a tree. The men ask him where Sarah is, and he tells them that she is in the tent.

God then tells Abraham again that he will return this time next year and Abraham will have a son. Sarah, who has been listening at the tent entrance, laughs to herself. She thinks that she and Abraham are too old to have a son. God then asks Abraham why she thinks that, as nothing is too hard for God. Sarah, afraid, says that she didn't laugh, but God tells her that she did. The men leave, heading towards Sodom, and God continues his conversation with Abraham, telling him of the imminent destruction of Sodom. Abraham bargains with God for the lives of the inhabitants of Sodom. A son is later born to Abraham and Sarah, who is named Isaac.

God makes promise to Abraham ad Sarah and not Hagar. Hagar is Sarah Slave.

Beacause Ishmael was the first born son and only him could possibly have been an only son, before Isaac was born. Isnt that obvious.

Hagar's children were NOT children of promise! When God told Abraham and Sarah that they would have children in their old age, Sarah laughed at the notion saying she was far too old , being in her late 70's or so. She did realize that God DID have a promise in store for Abraham's descendants, so SHE GAVE Hagar to Abraham to lie with and conceive a son. Because of their unbelief and disobedience, they were made to wait about 20 more years for the promised child, making them both almost 100 years old! The reason why this particular firstborn wasn't recognized as having the first birthright privileges didn't have anything to do with jealousy; it was merely because of the fact that Abraham and Sarah DIDN"T BELIEVE and took it upon themselves to perform God's will instead of allowing God to work in His due season. This is why today's Middle East is in a perpetual state of turmoil. They are cousins squabbling over a birthright that the children of Hagar weren't meant to control. They could share in what was theirs; they just couldn't REIGN over it. This is what began the wars between these Jew and Arab cousins down through the centuries.

OK, Abraham and Sarah were married. They were old and Sarah definetly couldn't bear children. When God told Abraham that he was going to have a kid that would rule the world, Abraham realized he needed to get to work. So he had a child with Hagar named Ishamael, which was his oldest son. Soon after, Sarah became pregnant (big surprize to everyone), and they had Issaac, Abraham's only legitament son (accourding to Jewish beliefs that say you can only have one wife, contrary to
Muslim beliefs that say you can have several. Ever wonder why that is....?) So the question you have to ask yourself is who is the son God intended. This is the basic difference in Judaism and Islam.

The story of Prophet Abraham sacrificing his son Ismael is in the Quran (37:99-112).

Now even the bible gives clues that it was Ismael not Isaac. The bible says:

Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, ‘Abraham!’ ‘Here I am,’ he replied. Then God said, ‘Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love,...(Genesis 22:1-18)

Even though the bible mentions Isaac by name it aso refers to him as "Your only son"...Ismael was older than Isaac:

Abraham was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ismael. (Genesis, 16:16)

Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. (Genesis, 21:5)

It is evident from these verses that Ismael (sws) was fourteen years old at the birth of Isaac (sws), and must have been offered for sacrifice before Isaac (sws) was born because Abraham (sws) had been asked to sacrifice his only son; after Isaac’s birth of course the words ‘your only son’ would be totally inappropriate and against reality.

In the light of this evidence, it is obvious that the word Isaac mentioned was inserted in place of Ismael.

ismael and hagar were chased out by abraham per god's will, after god promised sarah will bear abe's child if he complies, right?
then story goes sarah did in fact bear a child - isaac, and abe took him to the hills to slaughter as a token of proof he does believe in (and obeys) god, right?
apparently, god was bluffing, isaac survived, they went back home and lived happily ever after. bla bla bla...

in the meantime, hagar and ismael were on their own, in the desert, surviving not bluffs and jokes, but real hardship.

now, the big question.
which case was a factual sacrifice: isaac's bluff or ismael's desert adventure?

You have misunderstood the context,There is no mistake. At the time that God had told Abraham this,Ishmael had already been sent into the wilderness with his mother by Abraham. So when God said your "only" son,(of course there were two by that time,Ishmael And Issac) but he meant the son that was the only one with him at the time, the Legitimate child by his wife Sarah, that God promised them in their old age. Not the son by Sarah's maid, that went against what God had planned for Abraham and Sarah becuz Hagar was not his Wife. If you have one that is Illegitimate, and one that is Legitimate,by Marriage, then the Legitimate one would be held in higher social standing and with more rights.

How could Abraham sacrifice his only son (Issac) if Ismael is his older brother. Obviously the only time Abraham had only one son was when Ismael was around.

because they are descended from Ishmael and by changing the story (ie lie) they think they can convince themselves and others that they are the chosen of god.
