You can get a re entry visa that allows you to come back into Korea under the same visa you had when you left. You can get either multiple re entry that allows you unlimited departures and returns while under a work visa in Korea or a single re entry visa. This is available either at the nearest immigration office or at the airport on one of the upper floors.

This is simple. Before you check in your bags before your flight just go to the immigration office in the airport and tell them that you want to go to Japan for a visit but return to Korea on your work visa. They will issue you a re-entry visa for a fee (I can't remember exactly in Korean won, but it is not that much). If you leave the country without getting this special re-entry visa, then your single entry business visa will automatically expire. It shouldn't take more than 15 - 20 minutes at the airport though to get the re-entry permit. And as far as when you get to Japan... they should automatically issue you a 90 day tourist visa when you go through immigration at the airport. Good luck and happy travels.

No, you'll have to go to immigration and ask for a re-entry permit. There are two to choose from. A multiple re-entry permit or a single. Once you have this you can return freely to Korea. If you don't have this, you may be asked to present a flight ticket home. Back to where you came from. I once left Korea without a re-entry permit and had a hell of a time trying to explain to immigration that I don't have a return ticket back home cause I'm gonna start working in their country. Better safe than sorry. They may send you back home or leave you at the airport to rot, cause these guys they no speak the English language very good and dunno how we make the thinking process.

As far as Japan is concerned..... you can enter as a tourist for 90 days. It shouldn't affect your Korean visa.
SIDE NOTE: If you are planning on coming to Japan after the summer you may be fingerprinted and have your photograph taken. Expect it to take longer than usual if you are connecting to a train or another flight.
The Japanese Diet (government assembly) is currently working on passing a new legislation similar to the states with regards to foreign visitors (and residents). A big difference is that you will be printed and photographed on EVERY entry to Japan.

If yours is single entry Visa, it is for single entry I think.
You'd better ask and let your Korean colleagues to check Korean Visa first.
Btwn Korea and Japan is only a few hours flight.

the regulations would have replaced, yet again in the overdue eighty's, I had friends who went there on a classic visa, worked structure, and then merely left the country each 3 months and re-entered to have their visas renewed. once you've never been there in the previous, bypass on a classic visa and verify it out. you would no longer be in a position to address the subculture wonder. A operating information of jap will be very sensible as well. the roles that are accessible in to individuals are not any more quite what you would imagine, except you've particular skills that agencies would desire, and please excuse me for putting forward so, which couldn't very probable. they prefer large, reliable individuals to paintings structure, because the subculture would not positioned an emphasis on the fee and honor of guide not straight forward paintings. that's seen low classification, so that they are extremely chuffed to have individuals do it for them.
