No. In the seventies, everyone was panicking about global cooling. The lead meteorologist at the University of Colorado, who is the leading expert in tropical cyclones, believes that the current warming trend will end within the next three to four years. I don't know if you are aware of this, but the increased carbon dioxide levels are doing more for the world's plant life than any human efforts to reduce deforestation. More plants use more carbon dioxide thus reducing greenhouse gases. The global ecosystem tends to be self-regulating.

sure and I tell a lot of people about it ,and the most help any one can do is to make as many people as póssible aware so that they will live towards the solutions ,
but the problems are enormous and this is classified as a mega threat to humanity
Global warming is in theory reversable, but it will mean global co operation between all countries ,and taking into account human nature and the world politics ,it is unlikely that this will happen,
At least not untill we are all in the middle of planetary disastres and it becomes a battle for the survival of humanity every where.
SOLUTIONS
if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to reverse the destructive processes
reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.
the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.
the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia
Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.
the protection of existing forrests.
stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.
education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.
education on environmental awareness
Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.
more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks
,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour
alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine
recicling wastes,limit water use

No need to worry any more. We have passed the point of no return. We really did it this time. If the world stopped using ALL fossil fuels today, the effects of global warming will continue snowballing for another 100 years, and that's too late. We are already in deep, deep, do-do; up the river; SOL; FUBAR; however you want to put it.

I'm very concerned with global warming. I mean with all the carbon dioxide we've been producing, we could actually wipe out all of humanity in less than 20 years.

People don't want to hear anything that doesn't paint a pic of them living the life they see on TV. That's all most of 'em are living for anyway. Of course the earth is warming up, but since we're in America, we'll just turn up our AC, or heat, and we'll always have enough food cuz we're so rich and when there's a bad storm or something, FEMA will send truck loads of ice to save us all! HOORAAYYY!!!

Not really.
I do think Americans can and should cut their energy use, and that would be good for everyone (including the individual who will save money).
But, the global warming stuff is overhyped.

They say Mars is warming to. I think it has more to do with the Sun than anything the human race is doing or could do.
