Shampoo is only a small part of it. Are you brushing your hair when it is wet? Buy a wide tooth comb and use that instead. When washing your hair, don't pile your hair on your head. Same when you conditioner. I really like Fantastic Sam's shampoo and Conditioner for dry/course hair. A leave in conditioner would be great on just the ends.

Any mainstream shampoo is going to cause split ends. It's just what sulfates do. Try not washing the ends of you hair, only the scalp. I use baking soda and lime juice on my hair...

if you are willing to spend some money--NOT PANTENE! I heard it is terrible. It makes split ends worse.
Biolage (by Matrix) works for me, but i have thick hair. It depends on the kind of hair you have.
Back to Basics works too!

Fruit Fusions - great for dead ends, split ends, etc. It helps, make your hair NOT tangly.. I've used it for awhile now, and it's helped wonders for me! It also has a fruity smell : Orange, Kiwi, etc.

a moisturizing shampoo works good. get one for dry hair, and use conditioner and/or a hair mask.

pantene works best for I'm a person with very course hair and it mends very well. And it strenghtens it to growth.
