Well the best answer for this is have your doctor run some basic vitamin test on your blood and this way they will let you know if you are deficient in certain areas and depending on your insurance they can give you a description or if you don't have a doctor or don't want to go through the hassle try multi-vitamins like centrum or other brands that come in low doses of each vitamin that may help your body

You can take a Nutri-Physical to determine exactly what your body needs.
http://hwcnewyork.unfranchise.com - click on Nutri-Physical in the top right margin. It will take you through a series of questions about your current health and lifestyle, and in the end will provide you with a list of products specifically for you. The products listed are of course those sold on the web site, but whether you buy from there or not you will at least get a comprehensive list of what your body needs. There is no obligation to purchase products, and the Nutri-Physical is completely free.

Only you know your bodies needs, But doctor's are like mechanics and they can help you decide what you need. But I am know doctor and I think taking a Multiple Vitamin for your gender would be something you could consider. But as always, consult your physician before taking anything if you have any medical conditions.

Everyone needs to supplement their diet with vitamins and minerals. Over the counter ones may not be enough or are properly assseyed. One should take pharmaceutical grade after determining their true needs as mentioned above.

A single multi-vitamin is usually good enough, unless your doctor says otherwise.
I usually buy the cheapest store brand available at Wal-Mart, usually a bottle of 300 for around $12.00.

Just go for the regulars:
Calcium, especially if you're getting older.
Vitamin D, to help absorb your calcium
Vitamin C, to boost your immune system and help fight heart disease.
Lastly, Iron to keep your blood full of oxygen to give you more energy.
Most of these you can find in a multivitamin or you could take them seperatly if you wish.

Just eat a healthy, well balanced diet. They are beginning to find that taking vitamins can mess up your kidneys.

eat your food. they have all the vitamins you need. the vitamins that you take by mouth are a waste of money, when you can get the same ones in food.
