I think it feels like someone stabbing you in the groin with an icepick. Any other opinions?

It's a lousy feeling, but it's only temporary. As soon as you realize that you're not a failure or a loser, you'll feel better. Everyone goes through 'lulls' in their lives when things just ain't going your way. Pull yourself out of it, do something constructive that makes YOU feel good. Help someone in your neighborhood who could use a hand with chores; donate some of your time at a community center. The best therapy is helping others and at the same time, you're helping yourself. You're NOT a loser.

What is your definition of being a failure or loser? Is this your own opinion of yourself or others opinion. Is this based on success? If so, you need to define what succes means to you personally, is it financial gain or is it intellectual gain? I am not rich at all, but I know myself, I have my own thoughts and my own existence, therefore, I am a success. Every single person has a uniqueness about them that does not exist in anyone else. So, it's impossible to be a failure or loser. Find that one or two things that are unique about you and start building your confidence on them.

You are only what you think you are. It is possible to be 'branded' by your community or society, but you know yourself better than they do... so their opinions should not be a source of concern.

So what does it feel like? It's like bopping yourself over the head with a baseball bat and blaming someone else. :)

Nice description. Glad I don't know the feeling. I'm not talking about the being a failure part.

yeah, sometimes I think it would be best to go to the top of the bridge of I-635 and jump off onto I-35. But then I realize stuff happens once in a while and it could be worse.....and it probably will be worse.... until I jump off the bridge.
