New Zealand is a beautiful place and some day I hope to visit their great country. The landscapes are magnificent. And I have watched a few travel shows and the people seem wonderful.
But I guess you can refer to them as New Zealanders, Kiwis, or Maoris [if they are indigenous people]

Nickname is "kiwis". Or you could call them New Zealanders. The indigenous people are Maoris.

They respond with love and affection if you call them sheep shaggers. It is a secret pet name they use among themselves.
But to foreigners New Zealanders is formal, and Kiwis informal.

ok,i'm from New Zealand and i definatly DON'T like being called a sheep shagger.it is a mockery of our heritage,and if you are from the USA i'll call you a red neck.
also its not called maouri
its maori,because if you were to say that to a maori he would give you the jandal.
also,we don't call each others "mate"
thats more australian.
but you can call us kiwi's.
or "cussie bro's"

Im proud to call myself a Kiwi, although I was born and raised in America, my dad is from Paraparam and Grandmother is from Wellington.
