"NFG research shows that only 22% of all golfers regularly

score better than 90 for 18 holes on a regulation length course. For

females, the percentage drops to 7%, and for males it goes up to 25%.

The average 18-hole score on a full-size course is 97 for men and 114 for

women. It's an even 100 for all golfers. Only 6% of the men and 1% of the

women say they break 80 regularly."

Counting all the people who only play a few time less than 15 percent. The average golfer shots 108 and the average handicap is 19. Most of the golfers who shoot the higher scores don't have established handicaps

few break 90, many have the potential to break 90, it's always that 1 or 2 bad holes that screw it up for all of us, do you know what i mean?, it's difficult to go out and be consistent for 18 holes, don't get hung up on your score, you're not getting paid to play golf, have fun and relax and when you least expect it-it will happen, i broke 90 for the first time on a day that i hadn't even planned to play and at the time i was struggling to break 100, i went to the course without any expectations and shot an 89, man that was amazing!, i couldn't believe it, just seemed so natural, my game is improving, it won't be long until i break 90 on a consistent basis, if you're struggling to break 90, relax, calculate your potential, after a game add your 2 best par 5s + 2 best par 3s + 5 best par 4s and multiply by 2, add 10%, that's your potential, have fun

I believe that I had heard somewhere that 5% of all golfers are able to break 90, 1% are able to break 80 and .2 % are scratch. It was something like that, I believe it.

I broke 90 once, I was on fire, I had 7 birdie putts in a row, sank 2, 2 putted the rest. It will never happen again. I would say 25% honestly break 90.

i would say very slim, the rules of golf are often broken on every hole by amateurs, kicking the ball off the cart path, moving the ball in the bunker, not marking properly on the green, taking mulligans, etc. all of which result in penalty strokes. the average joe schmoe golfer, abiding by all the rules of the game, is lucky to shoot 100.
