why do i have to keep constantly hocking up mucust... like almost every hour.... and when i goto bed.. i have to get up like 2-3 times just to hock it up and spit it...and i can't ever hock it up quietly....
the mucust is clear mostly but usually when i get up in the morning its hard to get up from my throat and the outer part of the mucust is clear but a hard part is like really light-green.
this is probably a allergy but i don't know how to tell if it is... i always thought i wasn't allergic to anything...
any suggestions?

there are a few questions that u would need to answer before a definitive label could be put on your condition, but I'll try to help u with the info provided.

First, you need to think about how long you have had this problem. If it is of recent onset, then you probably have some sort of sinusitis problem(inflammatory rxn to some new stimulus that your body may be allergic to). You need to think about any recent changes in living situations, locations, new pets, different plants. Try to think about your first episode this problem and then try to think of any new changes that you may have made around your house. Also, you must consider working conditions. Have u changed jobs? Switched departments? All these factors could have a role in your illness.

If on the other hand, you have suffered from this condition for over a year or even more, then we need to consider a few factors. Do you smoke and how long? If you are a chronic smoker then it is possible that you may be suffering from an obstructive lung disease, more specifically, bronchitis. These are serious conditions in which you should seak medical treatment.
If you do not smoke, then I would probably attribute your sickness to allergies. You should seek further info from your healthcare provider as many advancements have been made for individuals suffering with allergies.

consider trying regular saline nasal irrigation. This can range from using a saline spray numerous times a day to buying a machine like a Hydropulse to wash out your sinuses. This will wash out all the gunk although it would take at least a couple weeks or more of regular use to clean out your sinuses.

Then if you still have problems you might need to get evaluated for allergies and maybe get allergy shots or an inhaled steroid like Flonase or both.

You might have allergies. Go see a doctor. It might be an infection of your sinuses and will clear up as soon as you take a good antibiotic or with all the steriod nasal sprays today, you might just need a few blasts to get it cleared. Don't wait!
