I have heard on the news that if you don't pass you cant walk and graduate. I think what they should do is for kids who cannot pass then they have to take a mandatory summer school classes on the section or areas they did not do well. Then at the end of the summer there should be a graduation. Everyone should have a Chance to graduate and not everyone tests well so I don't think a test should determine graduation status.

first of all I honestly don't feel they should have failed an 8th grade exit exam as a senior. I don't want the education board to lower the standards and make the test easier, then what does that do for kids everywhere. The answer to your question they should have passed that test--they didn't--they don't walk or participate.

In the state I live in students can do this, but have to pass the exam in the following summer. They don't actually receive the diploma until they pass the test, but still get to walk.

Public schools are only paid once to educate your child. Their job is to "try" to educate as many students as possible, and get them through the system. Sure 90% pass the exams, but what about the other 10 %?

the total concept of a single bypass/fail try for 'each and every thing' it particularly is taken by particularly everyone looks dumb to me. i think of the Brits have a greater physically powerful device, the place you're taking exams for various matters, no longer an general commencement. and you could end college at sixteen. assume you won't be able to stand college. you go with for to be out incomes earnings and incomes a means. You concentration on passing English and Math. You line up an apprenticeship with a organisation. they could decide which you would be able to bypass another project, like technology. yet you have sparkling goals and an incentive to earnings the fundamentals while not having to post with all the non-academic nonsense that makes extreme college a recognition contest, no longer a researching business enterprise. So, until we drop this dumb concept that particularly everyone desires to stay at college until they are 18 (you purely could desire to stay at college until you have the educational you could desire to make a initiate on making YOUR way interior the worldwide) then particular, permit particularly everyone walk.

Some schools offer second chance testing.
get on the ball with that, and it may not even be at your school it may be in your school district. you may even have a summer school program you can do to make up the chance.
get in touch with your local school board, or pta, or anyone, its worth it. be persistant, you may still have a second chance.

you may want to simply go to the board of education and take the GED test and then go on to do whatever you want to do in life.
