Your doctor will give you medication during the last few months of your pregnancy to suppress the symptoms. If you have symptoms during delivery, then they will give you a c-section. Otherwise, you can deliver vaginally without the risk of passing it on.

Yes, there isn't any. Herpes is caused by a virus. Actually, there is little cure for viruses nowadays. The only thing that you can generally do in the case of a viral infection is strengthen the immune system and hope it fights it off. Not with Herpes, the immune system can't win against it. Thus you only get to treat the symptoms. Once you're infected, it stays with you for life. So don't get infected.
Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years.

It can be dangerous to give birth to your baby naturally. Your infant may become infected during a normal birth. Most doctors recommend a C-section. It's also possible (although rare) that your fetus may become infected with herpes during development. A fetus becoming infected with herpes will have many developmental problems. If you do get pregnant, make sure your doctor knows of your condition and get monitored frequently. Also, it's more likely that you'll pass on the disease if you have an outbreak during pregnancy. So, be sure to take away as many stress inducers as possible before you get pregnant. Don't get pregnant until you can relax and enjoy the experience. For more info check out Medline: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001368.htm The website is a US government health website so it's factual info you can trust.

yes baby can get herpes. Baby can also go blind. I am not sure why the baby can go blind but that is a risk. Risk of both are still there if there is no outbreak. I had a cousin that gave birth to a little boy when she was 12 and she did not have an outbreak at that time. However, her little boy was born and later developed herpes in his mouth and down his throat. Very painful experiance for him.

There is a risk but I would recommend reading form people who study herpes on a daily basis that is the International Herpes Management Forum. They have written a good report about that subject you can find it here. I would suggest that you asked someone else to read it for you because there is a rather traumatising picture of a newborn baby in the article. http://www.ihmf.org/journal/download/62Malkin(50).pdf

First, check with your doctor before you get pregnant too see if you are able to get pregnant w/o problems. I have a cousin who has herpes and she had her baby vaginal and her child has the virus on the brain and you can see that over time her child will have development issues and she should have had a c-section to avoid all problems and passing it alone. Never have a vaginal birth with any disease because the baby passes through the canal and catches everything the mother has, so see a doctor and be safe.

If you have herpes warts and stuff on your vagina, the baby will most likely get it as it comes through the birth canal.
So get a c-section instead. But the baby won't get it while it's in the womb- only when it come sout and comes in contact with it

Your baby can contract the Herpes virus during labor. Your child has contact with sores or even fluid and it can get in his eyes and cause blindness. So many things can go wrong and it can actually lead to death in some cases.
They would have to do a c-section if you do get pregnant.

yes you can give the baby herpes if you deliver vaginally. and the baby's father might get herpes because ur not using protection and trying to get pregnant. i would advise you to tell him before you both plan on having a baby together. he might not want what you got.
