I have a condition that some people know and some dont. Its called Obsessive Complusive. Part of the "disorder" is I count things.. all the time.. I find consistant patterns etc. The guy I am seeing asked me once to tell him how "obsessive" my counting was so I started telling him " I know the exact number of movements it takes to tie your shoes, I know the number of drawers you have on your dresser, and I know how many times you pat your pockets when you are getting ready to change your pants.. " He smiled at me and said there are some things you cant count you know".. I said Yeah like what... He said in the most cencere voice " You cant how many times a day I think about you.. You cant count the times of day that I wish you were with me... and you cant count the times A day I want to touch your face".... That.. was the most sincere compliment i have ever gotten

I think the best compliments to receive are ones on things you have control over, and ones that compliment something you dislike about yourself.
I had a woman at work tell me I had a beautiful complexion and it made my day. I still remember it and it happened like 5 years ago. I think the reason it meant so much to me was because I always hated my skin because I was so pale, but here was this woman, who didn't know me or anything about me, who thought my skin was beautiful.
Ever since then, I've been very proud of my skin and tried to take even better care of it than I already did.
Silly, I know, but that's my answer!
Oh, and another one that meant a lot to me was when someone told me that I was "real". That was very important because I hate fake people and don't want anyone to ever get that impression of me.

I am a foster mom and on valentines this year , one of my boys ( he has been with me 2 years) came home and gave me a card that said, You loved me when nobody did, and told me that you cared, you brushed away all my tears, and told me you were scared. Now I see the love you have was true right from the start, for this is why this Valentines Day, I give to you my heart.
This is the best compliment anyone could ever give me. I cry every time I read it.

The best compliment I've ever received is that I was an outstanding mother. I'm a single mother, active duty military... I work full time, and I parent full time. I take parenting very seriously, and I put every ounce of my being into bringing my daughter up right in a cruel society. To know that other people notice makes my day!

I used to work at a nursing home when I was in my teens.
There was a little old man whom had never married or had kids and I would stop in his room everyday and smile or joke with him athough he never said really anything to me....I was bubbly and outgoing in my teens.
I never thought I meant a whole lot to him because most of the other residents talked to me or joked back and he did neither.
One day when I came into work he had developed a nose bleed, we sent him to the doc and they sent him back and couldn't get it to stop. I still stopped in his room, joked with him as I always had and changed the clothes that he held on his nose.
.After about a week his vitals had dropped and they were sending him back to the ER, I had over heard one of the nurses say they didn't think he had much longer.
I walked beside the stretcher carring him out and he reached over and grabbed my hand and said that if he could have ever had a daughter he would have hoped for one just like me.I stood there in tears, he never came back.
That, to me, was the greatest compliment that I ever recieved.

My boss said to me the other day, "out of all the girls we've had work here nobody's caught on to the way we run things as quick as you, even my husband (who also works at the store) says that nobody's as good as you....you can merchandise, work the register, clean the store, do the cards, work in the back....when you come back from maternity leave i think we'll be able to give you a raise." I think that's awesome considering I've only been working for them for the past 6 months and she's already giving me maternity leave and talking about a raise?!!! Not to mention that she's willing to be super flexible about my schedule once I have my baby.... she's the best boss in the world! Dont you just wish your boss was like that?

Perhaps the best compliment received was a mute recognition of my work. I was an executive and was on the eve of my next promotion. I was a very conscientious officer but somehow one important file escaped my attention and action became time barred(It did not involve any revenue). I had kept my finers crossed but was gratified when my promotion order was received when due. With a guilty conscience I approached my boss and honestly told him that ,with that lapse, I really did not deserve it. With a show of loosing his temper he bellowed,"So now you are telling me how I should go about my work.Get out!"

What a wonderful compliment to you.
I've had many over a lifetime, but recently I started guitar. Just doing so so, but he told me to write a song and melody. He just told me that my song is the first one ever by any of his students that he wants to play with his group. He's doing a demo for copyright. He wants to play my second also.
Wish me luck.
If interested, "Tears Lost In The Rain", and, "The Ways I Love You". Working on, "A Heart Breaks So Quietly". I 'm not running to the bank. LOL

I was doing a live remote broadcast on the radio when a lady walked over to our broadcast area, then made her way right up next to me, and whispered in my ear "Your voice arouses me. Whenever I listen to your show, I have to be all alone" Then she winked at me, and walked away. I stood there stunned for a couple of seconds, but I was able to regain my composure and continue the show. I took that as a major compliment!

The most meaningful compliment that I've ever received was from my English teacher senior year, she told me that I was a rarity and that gave me intuition to separate myself from society become my own person.
