I do not like the idea of a Certificate of Completion one bit. After getting this certificate, a person's options are so limited it is ridiculous! It should not even exist. Just let people get their GED if it comes to that, thats what I say. But, anyway, I'm asking how everyone else feels about it. Perhaps there is something good about it that I don't know yet. Enlighten me.

It's just another way of saying, "I don't think you are any good, here is a piece of paper that you can do nothing with." Finishing the diploma is of course the better option.

The difference between a certificate of Completion and a GED is that it indicates that the person is capable of pursuing a goal until the end. A GED indicates that at some point, the student gave up and stopped going to school.
If this difference is not widely known, however, you are right. Not much difference in how it will be accepted.

I agree with you. There are not many options with a certification of completion. It is always best to finish your Diploma!

there shouldnt be any difference. in fact, a ged should still be considered a diploma, not just a ged. if someone doesnt complete highschool in their teenage years, why punish them for it if they are able to complete highschool credits and stuff. there is no reason why someone who is twenty five cant get a highschool dimploma. its bs.
