What realistic and current options are we as a country looking at regarding our immigration and border issues?

The U.S. should help the Mexicans build factories and housing in the Mexican side of the borders with the four States and a transportation system for those Mexicans that are permitted to work in U.S. territory so that they can return to their homes after work. The other option is closing the borders completely and wait to see what happens. If nothing is done, terrorists might get through the border.

Well, there's always giving employers dire warnings on hiring illegals, including computer companies, retail stores, food processing plants, give em fair warning on the illegals issue and if they don't comply in their hiring over a reasonable period of time, like 6 months to a year, start fining em down until they either comply, collapse, or leave the country.

On the border, put out a call for a million volunteers to move to the border in an uncompensated and unarmed capacity to spread themselves out over the 2,000 miles of borderline that separate the US from Mexico, and bring their walkie-talkies and cell phones, to assist the Border Patrol in the accomplishment of their appointed rounds. I'll bet you get 3 million willing volunteers on that one, easy. 1 million on the border would be 500 per mile, or like 1 person every 10 feet. Of course, they'd have to divide their time into 8 hour shifts, so that'd only put a third of that on the border at any one time, so that'd be like 1 person every 30 feet, but enough density there to A) send a message, and B) easily spot anyone trying to crawl across the border, rain or shine, day or night.

Another option is to finally convince mexico and other nations that co-operating with america is cheaper to them than not co-operating on immigration. Another option is convincing OUR representatives of the same thing, that actually doing something concrete on the immigration issue is cheaper for them in terms of votes and their pet special interests staying in business in america than not heeding the call of the majority of voters. 2 words, 'recall election'. Get out and vote! That'd be a great first step in pulling the plug on what has become a negative and damaging trend in america...for the cheap answer though, just rent a billboard in your local community, and put up a message en espanol! where it can be seen prominently, like downtown, that says 'please go back where you came from, too much too fast=too many', Sorry! Thanks for visiting! You could leave that last part en englais, though... Those would be the legal, and civil options...

First of all America is not a sheepish country, at least it's citizens are not.
There is a realistic way to handle illegal immigration, and it can provide funding for secure borders on all four sides of the nation.
It can provide funding to aid in the legal immigration process.
However, our government would not apply it. The plea that would be given to the American people would go something like this.
Think of the other nation, blah, blah, blah.
I am so tired of thinking about other nations when it was America's borders that were breached, and American citizens were attacked.
Put the responsibility of the citizens who defect from their native land where it belongs, the resident nations.
We should start imposing strick fines, and the resident nation should be responsible for deportation costs.
If our bordering nations truly want peace with us, they will act like it, and be responsible for what comes across their borders, on to ours.

What we are looking at ,if the ILLEGAL immigration is not STOPPED, is MILLIONS more illegals coming here,which will cost more jobs,and drive down wages even further!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another thing,is NO BORDERS at all!!!! Illegals MUST be stopped,and there NEEDS to be a cap,on how many foreigners can come here!!!!
