That's a good observation. Here's what I do. I have this big LTD. No one screws with me. I hate it when I'm on the freeway and someone signals to change lanes and the tard next to him speeds up to block him. So you know what I do? If I see the car in front of me signaling to change lanes and the tard next to me speeds up, I kinda veer into him so he slams on his brakes, thus opening up a space as big as Texas for the guy who wants to change lanes. Yes, I'm a giver. I also never signal until I have begun moving into the next lane, then I only give it one blink. Never give them a chance to block you.

That's an interesting way to put it - kind of humorous, too. My opinion is maybe it's because so many people are so competitive and they think that highways and roadways are racing courses (which, of course, they're not). Some drivers don't want anyone to get ahead of them, which is crazy.
