Start a conversation about where you are at the moment. For example, if you are in a department store, ask if she knows where an item is, perferably one she is shopping for. If you are at a local pub, and you see her watching the baseball game, ask her if she knows what the score is. So ask a natural question for the moment and try to move the conversation along until you feel she's not interested in you.. And believe me, you won't alarm her, unless you look like a gangster. Women are quite brave, sometimes, however, they act like a wall flower for whatever reason is in thier minds.
