I have used all kinds of bird houses, now I have a greenhouse we will be fencing in to use for our birds! I cant wait, it will be the best bird house in my hood! But if you want one you can buy one of those really heavy ones that you post up on a pole. I have one of those but we placed it on the corner of our car port in the back of our yard. Now we have all kinds of birds at different times of the year nesting inside of it. The trick to those is to keep the BEES out of them so the birds can use them.

Not sure if you want to buy or build a bird house..... however I recall my dad built several bird houses, particularly for Martins. He made most of them, if not all out of Aluminum. He generally used two (2) to three (3) millimetre aluminum sheets that can be purchased at a local lumber yard. This would be bent into the shape of the bird house. Small screws or rivets would hold it together.

The aluminum bird houses reflected the heat, were extremely durable and turned out quite attractive with some creative work.

All the best.
