This is precisely why the US has the lowest voter turnout of all democratic industrialized countries. Most people are not fooled by the antics of the majority parties. However, if you don't vote, you have no right to complain. Voting is the only way we are allowed to actually have a legal opinion on what our government does.

The more enlightened a person is, the more money they have and the more likely he is to wield power. Having to funnel that through the average joe is an excellent method of checks and balances to make sure that only the people who gained money legitimately have influence.
For example. Liberals have managed to steal incredible amounts of money but are politically impotent because they have to convince the average joe to vote for them. Since they are basically evil, this has proven to be very difficult to do...hehehe.

Though be it unfortunate that only the wealthy will win, the US can't limit candidates based on wealth. It will be up to the voter to become more educated in who they are voting for. Either way, the US and its form of government remain the best in the world.

Isn't it the truth! I know I couldn't possibly run even for school board with the lack of money I have. Even those with good ideas can't get elected without money and most of us don't have it. Maybe the government should subsidize poor candidates?

to make the people feel important to their country, look every government has a failing point, there is(in our political world) no perfect government. so eventually our government(democracy) will give way to a different gov. most likely a Republic, in which you are ruled by law and not majority

its just to keep citizens in line with a sense of importance while billions of dollars just circulate through the hands of the ruling few.
