Don't. He's probably the size he should be. My daughter is 6 1/2 and only weighs about 32 pounds, she's about 41 inches tall. I worried about it, but the Dr. showed me her growth curve on that little chart they use. She has always tracked slightly below the 5th percentile. That means she is growing at the rate that is normal for her. They said the only time they worry is if a kid tracks consistently at one percentile then is suddenly at a much higher or lower percentile on the chart. Your son is probably just fine.
Here, go to this, I put in your son's height and weight and guessed about his birthdate, and it said he's at a normal weight, but see for yourself: http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/

You should first ask your family doctor or pediatrician if there is a problem. What I have found is all children develop and grow at different rates. I've heard if you can get your child to eat a decent meal over the space of a week you're doing good. My suggestion is to not obsess over his weight. That, can create eating disorders. Just continue to offer him healthy choices and let him see you eating healthy. If he is otherwise healthy and developing I wouldn't worry about him.

Well my son is exactly the same height, weight and age as your son..I have tried everything...pediasure, peanut butter shakes..but alas nothing works..I talked to his doctor and he said there is nothing to worry about..that some kids just have a really high metabolism that will eventually slow down later in life.

My son is about the same as yours for weight and height...My daughter, who is now nine was the same way....Both of my children are extremely active, even when they time out for a video game, they don't gain...(only when their body needs too)...I was also worried and their doctor informed me that it is due to their activity....Believe me, my children eat alllllll the time!!! But, I was also the same way when I was younger.....ONLY worry if he starts loosing weight!!!!

You might just have a small boy. I'm pretty sure he's height matches his weight. But I'm no dr. I suggest you call them and ask. Over the phone they don't charge you money.

my daughter was the same way, our doctor suggested ice cream and instant breakfast drinks but a week or so later... she had a growth spurt.
If he eats well, and has a clean health report, I wouldn't worry too much, but if he loses dramatically, it's time for a second opinion.
