I think there needs to be an updated model. The F-16s we have are old, but they can still get the job done. We have some old stuff, but we still rock hard!

well with time and change in technology circumstance will make sure that the f-16 is replaced by another plane.

but thats not gonna happen any time soon coz not only is the f-16 a potent plateform moreover with the continuous improvement process going on at lockheed has made sure that the f-16 s stay ahead of the race.

there is one more thing that should be kept in mind that planes are designed according to the needs of the armed forces

and now there isnt a big nation to challenge the us's authority. so the major threat is going to come from small states and radical groups and this will lead to a need for fighters like jsf which can operate in almost any situation

I used to paintings for an FBO at a significant airport. I talked about all varieties of jet. I couldnt see the actually value the DOD paid us for gasoline yet maximum would address 800 gallons of gasoline. Do the mathematics! we would get a lot of harriers that are gasoline hogs. they might run sorties that ought to in reality take them an hour or 2 and would continuously get an entire correct off. now and again as a lot as 1300 gallons! LOL...your tax money at paintings.

Good plane, but getting dated. I understand the newer jobs like the F-22 are foing to gradually replace it, like the F-18 just did for the Tomcat!

NO.... The F-16 is still a very potent weapon for our Millitary and is still so popular among Fighter Pilots that it would be a hit to put it on the shelf.
