It really hurts my soul to know that there are people out there who protest the rights and freedoms of the United States, and do it in someone elses name, someones name that gave them the right to protest and speak there mind. Most of these people have never been throught the Military and have no clue what it means to be apart of a brotherhood, a band of brothers, to go to war with your best friend you watch his back he watches yours, you bond and you respect that fact. Many tears have been shed, and blood spilled all spilled and shed so some asshole has the right to protest his or her name becuase of what they believe, someone needs knock some sense into some people.

You see them protesting at funerals because that is their right. Thanks to the soldiers who have died, today and hundreds of years ago. What a group huh?
I understand exactly what they are prostesting, but would they want someone protesting against anything at their solemn farewell to a family memeber. That is cruel to the living people and disrespectful of the dead. I wouldn't want a religious protester to be at my funeral saying how wrong it is that I am a catholic, or a jew or a baptist. people just need to know when enough is enough, a funeral should be off limits.
some people actually think this is the way to get the point across that they are against the war. point taken, now stop.
I do feel sorry for people who are against the war, and have lost loved ones. That doesn't mean everyone feels that way. I have LOTS of family involved right now, including my husband. These men all believe in what they are doing. They have been there and know the real situation. I suppose in a way the protesters are arguing with the deceased's decisions? I swear I won't be very tolerant if I ever have to face them at my loved ones grave. I am not sure how I would handle the situation, but you can bet it would be classless.
I wish the war would be over already as well. I agree with it however. I am just tired of it. On the other hand I don't want to pull out and have history repeat itself. Noone likes war, but we do love our way of life, and feel that other people should not be persecuted.

OldGuy doesn't even know why they are protesting, yet he supports their action. It has absolutely nothing to do with the validity (or lack thereof) of the war. This group specifically is protesting at funerals because they claim that each soldier's death is God's retribution on an America that supports the "sin" of gays. They are not just classless, they are weird and more than a little crazy.

Because they don't have respect for the dead or the family. I have gotten upset with one group only because a solider was gay...and they said some mean stuff during the services. I thought it was so much more wrong then what they were protesting about. It is very TASTELESS. There is a time and place for everything...a funeral is NOT a forum to speak ur mind. They need to learn to respect the ppl who lost their love ones and the dead....regardless. Sometimes I wonder if they even have respect for themselves....

We had these protests here in my town when a local man was killed in Iraq. The group was a "quasi" religous one saying that soliders were dying as punishment from God for the USA allowing Gay people to live in the USA. Seems kind of twisted logic to say the least. Very disrespectful. The upside of it was that a group of bikers showed up to drown out their noise with Harleys and held flags up so that the family couldn't see the protesters.

A group from a church in Kansas protested here and the funny thing is that they were out numbered by 350 +++. They made it sound like a big deal, but when it boiled down to it. they were to chicken to show up. 3 children and 1 lady showed up. Holding signs and wearing flags yelling GOD HATES FAGS. ALL SOLDIERS ARE FAG! Things like that. I drove by and was in tears that people could be so cruel and say those things.
But yet wives holding signs in support of their husbands ( HOOK IF YOU LOVE YOUR SOLDIER) PROUD AND SUPPORTING OUR TROOPS.

I am at Ft Campbell. Anyone familiar with the military is familiar with the 101st Airborne Division. ( BAND OF BROTHERS)

I was disguseted when i heard they were protesting, saying god hates all. Thank god for IED's. If my husband ( who is in Iraq) hadnt asked me to stay away from the protest I would have went to support the troops. It is crazy how some americans say 9/11 happened casue god wanted it to.

We all want the war to end but protesting isnt going to bring it to an end.

They are protesting the meaningless and wrongful death of another brave American. If we face the truth, maybe we can halt the slaughter of our young boys and girls by those evil fat cats and bastards that send them to fight their foolish wars over oil or whatever. here are the children of the politicans that voted for the war?
The protestors love AMERICA. this is REAL class. to stand up for your beliefs against opposition. USA was founded by such protesters. the so-called "good" loyal british citizens of 1776 in America thought the Fathers of our country were all rebel traitors. They were wrong. so are you. You should join these protestors if you are upset that your friends or family was murdered because guys like BUSH, who are too chickenshit to fight themselves, send them off to stupid wars for wrong reasons and lie about it. That is why they are protesting. But you can always ask them. they will tell you why and glad to do it.

They have absolutely no respect for the one who took the oath to defend his country. Furthermore, those whom protest military funerals need the hell beat out of them for disrupting, and disrespect.
