If you are taking the route that leads from Rancho Park to Sherman Oaks, it's about 12 miles and, at an average speed of 35 miles per hour, factoring in traffic -- and there is construction on this route curently - it will take roughly 20 minutes.

My advice is to check Yahoo! Maps on the days and times when you would be on the road. The service has live traffic updates and wil be a valuabel resource for you. Good luck.

I've never seen worse traffic than on the 405. Except for the portions that have carpool lanes, I would avoid the commute if you can.
