If we KNOW there are 12 million illegals, why can't we just stop giving them anything whatsoever?

I've heard numbers from 12-20 million, that would triple if you legalize & let their immediate families join them.

Anywhere you go there is one County hospital ER that is required by law to treat anyone that comes in the door, insurance or not. If an illegal has an accident at one of those jobs & cuts off his arm, he's bleeding out standing there in the ER, do you propose we not treat him? What if it's a hispanic gentleman going into shock, should we ignore him until he can prove he's a US citizen? That's the kind of "benefits" we're talking about. Illegals do certainly take advantage of the system by going to county hospital ERs with the flu cause it's the only way they can get medical care, but that's the same thing all poor people do, and it results in those 12-20 hour wait times. This is the most desperate of programs stretched by illegals.

There are other things too, and certainly there is abuse by both illegals & American poor, but there is little that can be done about it except to remove them. I'd however say that the answer is to slash most of these social programs & to put American poor to work from welfare to those jobs illegals are taking.

Think! Every Chinese and Sushi restaurant has Hispanic chefs. The provide the bulk of service in the hospitality industry. Can you tell by looking who is illegal and who is not? If we started checking the ID of only are particular group such as Hispanics, the government would open it self up to the largest class action civil rights lawsuit ever. How many years would that go on and how many millions of dollars (in addition to what is now being spent) do you think that would cost? Have you ever seen 12 million people riot? Imagine it. Our best hope is to fortify our borders and mandate that every illegal now in country begin the naturalization process to citizenship or face deportation. Naturalization requires learning the English language, by the way. Basically, you are right our nation has become too politcally correct to call a duck a duck. If it walks like a duck and looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck. Not just a water fowl so as not to offend swans. I myself am not politcally correct, I do not see the need for it. It has cost schools and governments millions of dollars in re-printing costs alone. I know I am a person, but I have no object to someone addressing me as, Madame Chairwoman.

DSHS, ok stop giving them food, medical and money. Now they work at jobs that we americans find to be low jobs. We have people in america who marry one illegal. then in 2 years that one is a green card owner who now goes to mexico and gets 5 others to live here illegally. times that times 100 and that is why we have so many. I say tax them, help them help us and if they do not want to learn english with in say 1 year then send them home. We need to learn other languages but i am tired of bending for them. some of the illegals have not learned english for 20 years.

As someone who vehemently opposes illegal immigration, I still have a problem morally with denying children of illegals adequate healthcare, education, etc.

Something to think about: illegal immigration INTO Mexico.

How do THEY handle that?

When it all comes down to it, there is still the idea of human decency, even for criminals.

The problem, for me, lies with the insane discrepancy between what we say and do.
Either change the laws or in some way restrict those who are breaking them!

But leaving things the way they are only makes a mockery of the law.

first of all we need to find enough old vans to haul that many people (how many you think?), then find enough politicians to load them up and drive them to D.C. where they can be issued illegal imengrent i.d. cards. once they are all in D.C. the national guard can build a GREAT WALL around the district, close off all avenues of escape, sever all communciation lines, close all transportaion points, the N.G. can then man the gates allowing only the illegals to pass back into the U.S.A. once they are all back and can be identified so that we can stop giving them anything whatssoever, the N.G. can lock the gates with all the politicians inside and throw away the keys.
