bleeding gums, hurting teeth

Well, you definitely could have gingivitis, like a lot of people have already suggested.
But, you could also have a more severe form of periodontal disease. The only person who is going to be able to tell you this is your dentist. Make an appointment. Your dental hygienist will "probe" which means she will measure the health of your gums. Depending on what she finds, the doctor may diagnose periodontal disease and refer you to a periodontist.
If your teeth are hurting, don't wait. The longer you wait, the more this could progress and you could end up losing bone and teeth.

The first thing I would think of would be gingivitis. A good way to get your gums to stop bleeding is to floss everyday and rinse with Listerine for one minute. After you do this you can brush your teeth and then rinse again with Listerine or your favorite mouth wash. You should brush each section of your teeth for at least one minute. If this doesn't work I would see a dentist because you may have a more serious condition.

Gingivitis... do you regularly see your dentist? If not, go to one and get a cleaning. This is caused by plaque at the gumline that is not properly cleaned out. Make sure you brush and floss your teeth at least twice a day (morning and night). Also, one thing that I really like is an Oral B electric toothbrush. It is amazing how clean that gets your teeth... you can definitely feel a difference!

Most definitely gingivitis. Your gums are weak and possibly starting to recede if you've left it like that for too long. Just do some tooth-brushing and it should heal up in a few days. Be sure to brush that gumline, too! A dental pick is ideal for getting that taken care of.
