We also paid the Mexicans for the land...about 12million dollars. The Mexicans just stole it from the indians with no compensation or regard!

Wow, you really need to go back and study history.

The Spaniards conquered the Aztecs in Mexico at about the same time that the English Colonies were starting in the North East.

The Mexicans are the descendants of the Spaniards and Aztecs (as are most of the South American Continent.) That is why they speak Spanish.

America never stole land from the Mexicans. We stole land from the American Indian (Native Americans). Texas was at one point part of Mexico, but it won it's Independence on it's own and became an independent sovereign nation. Later of course Texas citizens voted to become part of the US.

Any way you look at it, the indians pretty much lost out. And, some of them are STILL losing because they're still living in the past. This is the 21st century, time to try and get with the times and find that job...put down the lysol, and come join the rest of the country, etc. We're not so bad, and we're not just 'white people' anymore....all those chinese railroad workers had kids, too, and the irish field-workers(no, mexicans weren't the first nor the only 'migrant workers'), and plus all 'indians' now qualify for special 'hyphenated-american' status! Don't milk it, though, get out there and 'claim' all 50 states! Millions of other americans do, every year, in their RV convoys. Come join the 'party'! LOL Freedom is meaningless if wasted...

maybe the mexicans tried to steal it from the indians? it doesnt matter take your history and go yell at spain

the calls for Aztlan, well, I just had to share:
Now some Mexicans want the land back. As a Comanche Indian, I have a problem with that. We Comanches pushed the Spaniards out of Texas and eastern New Mexico over 200 years ago. Neither Spaniards nor Mexicans ever managed to return. Comanches used to ride across the Rio Grande every fall to attack Mexican villages, killing, scalping, plundering and carrying off captives and livestock. "Upwards of ten thousand head of horses and mules have already been carried off," wrote one English eyewitness. "…everywhere the people have been killed or captured… ranchos barricaded, and the inhabitants afraid to venture out of their doors." The truth is, Mexicans were helpless against us. So where did they get this idea that they used to own our land?

Well about in the 1800s when my grandmother lived, she has a whole different story. The trouble with you young ones is your parents didn't take you to the outhouse enough and now your waste is everywhere. And that television. The Indians didn't care about the land there was plenty. The mistreatment came later. And there were good Indians and bad. The stealing came later. Form everywhere. And no one owes anyone anything. If my Grand pappy owed a debt I'm not paying their children now. And no one has been paying me. And your not taking anything without a fight. That is what all your relatives did . You think people would learn more as time goes by. Quit stealing! Work your own land. Grow your own crops. If you don't own it don't touch it. Stay off my land and I'll stay off yours. Don't take my money. And quit complaining.

I think the answer lies in Sam Houston defeating some stupid Mexican general, and the General giving him I don't know how many miles of land to save his booty. Check the history books its true, we didn't take it they lost, fare and square. Mexicans come from the same Indians that lived in that part of the world way back then, if you see Univision you see all white Mexicans on TV those are the descendants of the Spaniards that colonized or killed the Indians there. Just like their president "Fox". Hasn't anyone noticed that we don't see white Mexicans working in the farms, pits or roads. Whats coming in here are mostly uneducated Indian descendants, but hard working folks (I guess hard working but not by choice). These people don't dare to stand up to their government and demand reform, maybe lack of education or simply because is easier to skim your way here than fight for your country.
I wish the got together and instead of rallying here in the USA go to Mexico City and demand reform.
There is no honor.

You need to define America first. When you say America, you might refer to the country called the "United States of America". You might also refer to the continents of North and South America.

If you are referring to the U.S.A., you have to clarify your questions on which parts of the U.S.A. were stolen. The U.S.A. existed before the country Mexico did.

The Mexicans did not steal any land beacuse the political country Mexico succeeded from Spain. The Spaniards were the one who stole the land from the aborignal of the land.

While Columbus may or may not have been the one to discover AMERICA.He did so on the east coast,It was Spanish explorers who discovered the west,There were no such thing as MEXICANS,Just spanish people who integrated with the native AMERICANS,Or INDIANS,Thus spanish+indian =mexican.Nothing was stolen the strong survived! Also I find it quite admirable that after the mexican- american war our forefather's let them keep their land and didn't push them into south america.

It sounds to me as if you already have a full understanding of what took place. Perhaps you already know that some of the land on the Mexican side of the border belongs to Native Americans. It was never Mexico's for the taking.

You are quite bright; keep it up!

Mexicans ARE inative Americans of various tribes. When the borders changed , a part of them remained in US, a part- in Mexico. They are Latinized now, but in many areas people still speak their native tongue.
So Mexicans are real North Americans with all the rights to keep living in America, as their ancestors have done for ages...
