umm hi-5's instead of hugs? sounds more like a friend to me. But that could just be his style...might wanna wait it out a little longer. Look for more signals. The words he use to talk to u, how often, the way he touches, the way he acts, etc.

High fives would signal to me that he feels comfortable with you like a good friend. Most guys have a little different approach when it comes to relationships .If he is going out with someone else then I would probably leave it the way it is. Maybe watch though sometimes friends can become more with just the right circumstances.

I could mean a lot of things. He likely does not even have his feelings about you straight. Depending on his age and maturity as well as your relationship to him, I'd guess he's scoping you out, trying to find out if you're the kind of person he's attracted to or if you're someone he'd like to be friends with.
Here's an idea. Without getting so freaked out you can't think straight, try being yourself around the guy. I don't know your age, but you might invite him to join you AND a couple of your good friends (who won't embarrass you) to a movie. He then doesn't have to feel you're making a move on him, but he can tell you're interested in him as a person, and he'll know you don't always expect him to make the first move.

Not to be mean but, you should just ask him. If he is with someone most likely he is just being friendly. If he says he wants to be more than friends then he is not being true to his girl and he is not worth it because, he will do the same to you.
