So, you think the troops go out and just decide to make enemies. Go down to the community college and sign up for an international relations course.
If you don't want to support our troops, fine, that's your right.
But, it's only your right because the troops past present and future have defended that right for you.

The reason that has been a slogan for the past decade is that during the Vietnam War, our soldiers where treated like dirt while they where over there as well as when they returned. Most soldiers do not have a political agenda and may not support the duty they have been assigned and in the case of Vietnam most where drafted. It was any ugly period for our country which we have been trying to correct. We are trying weather or not we agree with the wars to support those who are defending our freedom. With them doing that they are in fact supporting you.

Because they're sitting there fighting for a country that doesn't seem to want them around at all. What incentive does that give them to do a good job and come home safely? They don't get to talk to the people who support what they do, they only see the negative sentiment from the media. Why come home to that? It's terrible for their morale to see so many people opposed to the military. The troops DO support you, you selfish rat. They're volunteering to a job that you don't have the balls to do yourself.

Im not sure but There could be different reasons.
First of all ..all soldiers shouldnt be put into ONE group.
some soldiers are noble and honorable. those are usually the newcomers.
But others are very very very wrong. and even order the killing of non-combatants. engageing in illegal greed wars, they order the
not only killing of people in their homes, but encourage laughiing about it.
going to higher ranks.. the higher the ranked, the dirtier the
person. these are the ones who are the reason for complaint.
Some generals retire and then begin to develop a concience, and stand up for fairness.but that is RARE. and it only amounts to Old men developing conciences in their last days of senility.
Anyway, sometimes (not too frequently though)
.ignorant people unfortunately grow wary of the entire armed service,- just because of that dirty leadership.
If you hear that protesters are bashing troops, in outrageously large numbers, its usually propaganda strategy, by the leaders who hide behind the innocent. the Veitnam war vets abuse. was such a strategy, acording to many people in the intellectual community. Of course some Vets suffered abuse by some protesters, and people who tried to call themselves protesters.
but were really part of DT's (see below)

We did not make new ones, we are getting rid of old enemies. Don't support the troops, no one cares about you & your opinion.
The troops answer to the President of the United States not you. That is why he is called the Commander In Chief.

Whether you agree with the war or not, we not only have men oversees representing us but families here that are making a great sacrifice. My brother is over there, he has a wife here that is raising a 10 year old and a 12 year old boys that are very active. At the same time, she helps other military families cope with the everyday basics of life that need attending to.

The father figure sending them into harms way is the debate. The troops do as their told and both sides respect that. Well most anyway.

"the military doestn't start wars, politicians start wars"
i forget who said that but its true
and if it werent for the soldiers, you would have been under communist control for at least 20 years now and if you said anything bad about the soldiers or the government you would go to jail.
just looking at the responses to your question, it seems your the one making enemies, not the troops

Don't focus your frustrations on the men and woman who are bravely fighting for our country-focus them on the people who put them there.
