well currently I am recieving $21,000 evry 4 months, but the money I actually get for living expenses are 9 to $10,000 every 4 months. the rest just goes to tuition, because every trimester I am taking on an average of 26 to 30 units. I am studying to be a doctor that is why it is so much. good ol government loans, you feel good when you get the check, but when it is time to pay, it sucks big time.

In K-12, it's around $6,000 per student (depending on which statistics you use and how they're calculated) which is lower than the $7,500 national average. It ranks 44th in the nation.

I couldn't find a ranking, but did find some three-year-old stats from the following website, which did list expenditures per student per state.
