i am a car salesman, i wont try to sell you anything, what i will say is it makes a big difference on the type of car you are buying and how long you plan to keep it. first figure out what you can buy. if you think you have credit problems get the finacing out of the way first, go online and get approved. second decide new or used if you trade every few years you will come out better getting a good deal on a preowned. if you keep a car 4 years or more go with a new car.
third shop online buy in person. make notes, if you have a trade look it up on nada.com your trade should bring somewhere close to trade in vaule(also known as left hand book) if you are trading remember it doesnt matter what they give you for your trade or what they charge you, its all comes down to the difference between the 2 autos.
fourth dont be rushed or pushed you are in controll and do things at your own pace. and you realy can get a better deal at the end of a month, dealers are trying to get as much as they can off thier floor plans.
