i know there last name and approx. year born. is it free?

The census is not public until 72 years have passed, so the most recent census you can search is 1930. There is a full census at the country library in Cincinatti, on library st., or you can pay to join ancestry.com and search online.

Yes, you can look up the name of your half sister if you know where she lived - the county. You can get some info if you just google search the census year and county but the best bet is find someone that has joined ancestry.com and get the info from them. Good luck.

I just tried finding family using the Illinois census and it was no help. Not sure if Ohio's is the same but I'm guessing so.
