yeah.. shotguns are safe... But look. Coming from a smoker, if you get tested for weed you wont show up for second hand smoke (sittin in a car or in a room with ppl blazing). So the same is said with shotgunning. Once it goes in your mouth, you take out the THC and all that from the weed and its in your body. All you blow out is smoke.
When your friend hits the bong (or whatever your shotgunning off of) he'll inhale it and all he blows out (for you) is smoke... no THC.
So if all you want is THC-less smoke, go for it. It's as harmless and anything.

do you mean drink a beer in about one second? well, i guess there is no harm in three or four and you will probably puke before you get alcohol poisoning, i usually do.
