I was just wondering if I could take squash and zuchinni put them in the oven sliced like french frie.

Squash French Fries

Squash
Milk
Egg
Flour



Cut squash into the shape of a french fry. Beat milk and egg together. Put flour in bowl. Dip squash into milk and egg batter. Dip into flour. Re-dip into milk and egg batter, then into flour once more. Deep fry until golden brown.




Zucchini French Fries

Ingredients:
2 eggs
2 medium zucchini, cut into 1 inch slices
1 Tbsp. water
1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. all purpose flour
peanut oil
salt

Cooking Instructions:
Combine eggs and water; beat well. Add flour and beat until smooth. Dip zucchini in batter and deep fry in hot 375 degrees oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with salt.

Serve immediately. Serves about 2 1/2 dozen.

Actually I've had zuchinni fries they are delish. When they are almost done but the oven on broil for about 5 minutes,(not too long they will burn) this will crisp them up a bit. Enjoy!

Only if you bread them first.. other wise they contain too much moisture and they will just get soft... you can slice them in rounds about 1/4 inch thick, and coat them with a mixture of flour, corn meal and bread crumbs... lay them on a pan coated with a thin layer of olive oil and broil them until goledn brown... don't forget to season coating mixture to taste.. about a half of a small package of Ranch Dip mix makes a good seasoning for this recipe..

Slicing them like french fries and deep frying would be better. Baking them the way you're thinking of won't get them crispy without really cranking the heat.

I coat them with beated egg, then put them in a breadcrumb mix and fry them in garlic. Yum

all these ideas are great but they lack one ingredient......corn starch. Add corn starch to any of these recipes....1 tsp corn starch for every 3/4 cup of mix. It holds everything together
