The mom will worry, but shouldn't attack anyone.

They need to be AT LEAST 8 weeks old, healthy, and eating solid food without issue. You should have them started on their shots and wormings, and also have they spayed or netuered before they go (as long as the puppy is two pounds or more, most vets will have them fixed).

Also, please ask an adoption fee of some kind instead of giving them away. Free dogs are often picked up and used to bait/train fighting dogs, among other unsavory activities.

Also, get your momma dog spayed once the pups are gone.

Previously puppies were considered old enough to leave the mom at 4 to 6 weeks. Now through experience many professional breeders will not release a puppie untill it is 12 weeks old. This allows for any sutble birth defects or gene abnomalities to be more detectable while allowing the pup to reap the full benefits of nursing from the mother. The mother will not go search and attack people looking for her puppies. The mother usually will not worry over pups that are given away. SHe will have more to worry about..like getting her figure back and running, rompping freely without little pups being attached to her teets.

A lot depends on how the puppies are doing. The earliest a puppy should be taken from it's mother is 8 or 9 weeks. Any earlier than this and the puppy may not get the full nutrition it needs from a mothers milk. If taken before 8 or 9 weeks make sure you are able to give it puppy formula (it's not cheap). The best time would be 10 to 12 weeks.

Puppies are old enough to be given away between 6-12 weeks depending on the litter. You will be able to tell by the way they interact with each other and their mother. If you have seen her correct her pups and they seem to have learned from her corrections then they should be fine. It is important not to let them go too soon because they do learn very important lessons by watching their mother. I am a pre-vet student and from what i learned from school experience and personal experiences when getting puppies the usual length of time is about 7 or 8 weeks.

EIGHT WEEKS! NO SOONER. THIS IS SET IN STONE BY REPUTABLE BREEDERS. Don't listen to anyone else who said 6 weeks or 7 weeks... they are retarded. If possible, keep them for 9-10 weeks, so they are very well socialized.

The mom will have a lot of seperation anxiety, but will chill out once all the pups are gone. She may go back to the birth spot a number of times looking for her kids, so I'd advise that after the last puppy is gone, completely disinfect the area and get rid of all "puppy smells"...

Puppies are usually old enough to go to new homes at 8 weeks of age, although some people let them go as young as 6 weeks (not recommended). *Note - in some states it is illegal to sell them prior to 8 weeks.

The puppies should be weaned and away from the mother a good two weeks before they go to new homes, and if this has happened no she shouldn't be worried about them and no she won't go and attack people in a search for her puppies.

8 weeks at the youngest, she will miss them for a while and i wouldnt be suprised if she was worried about them but it wouldnt be practical for you to keep more than 2 puppies and she won't attack people to find her puppies, my dog had a litter before i had her fixed and she was fine

they are old enough to be given away when they are about six weeks old. The mother will not try to hunt the person down. she will miss her puppies but only briefly.

I would recommend not to separate the pups from the mom before they are 8 weeks old. They will be weaned long before that, but it is important for their social growth that they stay with mom. She will impart some much needed manners on them before they go!
