Not necessarily. Weight loss is caused from burning off more calories than you are taking in. Thus, whether you are taking in a lot of calories from McDonald's or from tofu, there isn't much of a difference.
The best place to start is limiting your portions of food, eating frequent small meals as opposed to a few large one, and getting some exercise. If you haven't worked out before, start with taking a walk in the evenings. You will be amazed at how quickly your body can get rid of unwanted pounds.
After a few months of walking, try to jog for a few minutes toward the end of your walk and keep progressing
Drink a lot of water. It is good for hydration AND it will help your body rid itself of used fat.
Keep track of your progress with a tape measure, not the scales. Measure around your belly, your arms, your thighs. Write the measurements down and check them again every two weeks.
The problem with scales is that if you drink a gallon of water before you get on them, you are adding that weight. However, in an hour, your body will have rid itself of the water. The tape measure is a better at-home system.
. Best of luck to you in your endeavor!

It is dependent. Going vegetarian cuts out plenty of fats and saturated fat as good as 1000s of energy that you just could almost always get from meat. But it is dependent what *sort* of vegetarian you're. Are you a mac and cheese, ice cream, pizza sort of vegetarian? Or are you a tofu, greens, V8 sort of vegetarian? If you consume proper and keep lively, you can drop some pounds. If you lay round and consume potato chips and Little Debbies all day when you consider that they are vegetarian, you will not lose an oz.. Just maintain a watch on what you watch, vegetarian or now not, and you can drop some pounds and get more fit. Congratulations on fitting a vegetarian! Keep up the well paintings. :)

Vegeterainism certainly helps loose weight.Particularly when you are into eating raw fruits and vegetables. This will add a lot of fibre to diet .Fibre not only keeps the bowel moving ,but also binds excess fat and cholestrol and removes it from body.To lose weight have apple and green leafy vegetables particularly mint sauce as it keeps haemoglobin level maintained and energy flowing.

It depends on what you eat, there are more fat and calories in things like candy and pastries and potatoes, so even vegetarian depends on how well you watch your diet. Meat is only one source of fat and calories.
