I was sitting at a table in a diner and I see a waiter spit in someone's coffee cup before he serves it to the unbeknownst customer.
I knew I was the only one who saw, what should I have done?
What would you (really) do?? AND why??

I would have asked to see the manager and have that person fired. I would have told the customer BEFORE he took a drink.
No matter how RUDE that customer may have been, you can't react like that on the job! I would hope that someone would do the same if it were happening to me! EVERYONE deserves a certain amount of common decency

Depends...I was a waitress all through college and many of the customers were horrible...I never messed with their food or drink, but I dreamed about it! If the person being served was really that bad I probably wouldn't have said anything, but brought it to the attention of the waiter...it's inexcusable, but humans (including service people) are humans and sometimes their emotions get the better of them.

I would really walk up to the person who was about to drink that nasty brew and tell them what I saw. I would then go to the manager and tell THEM. Not only is it beyond rude and disgusting, what if they waiter had some kind of sickness....even if it was just a cold??? I would rather be embarrased by starting a "scene" than know that I didn't say anything.

I don't know about other states but in Texas that is a criminal offense.
I believe it is called "tampering with a consumer product."

I would have told the customer, and called the manager. Even though it didn't happen to me I would have been livid!!!!

That waiter should have been kicked in the A$$ but since that too is a criminal offense---firing him would do just fine.

I would stop that person from drinking the coffee, and report it to the Manager of the Establishment. I personally think that waiters who do that type of thing are scum and need to be dealt with accordingly.

I'd ask to talk to the manager and tell him what you saw. I'd also let the person whose coffee it was know about it so they wouldn't drink it.

Morons who spit in people's food and drinks or do something else gross with it should not be working anywhere near food!

if i knew the person, (or depending on how i felt), say "i dont think you should drink that." then go to the waiter and say "i saw what you did. it was wrong, and you should be fired." then get your other customers (and your) meal free.

but then again, that depends on if i felt like getting involved. if nothign else, i would have walked out (so that didnt happen to me!)
